I'm just relocating to Virginia Beach from Cape Cod MA. It will be a nice switch, lobster will have to be substituted for crab which I can get used to. But any oyster happy hours like we have here? (99 cents). |

What's the best place for breakfast around Warwick RI I love T's small omelet with a side of yogourt and fresh fruit. I already know I make the best homefries in my own kitchen. |

planning South Yarmouth for 2013 Is the chef/owner at Norabella previously at Il Maestro? |

Recently had maybe my best oysters this summer at Naked Oyster, coldest, freshest, best shucked. But truth be told it was it was in walking distance from the Anchor Inn. Sold our house on Cape and relocating to Virginia Beach. Anchor Inn is the best combination of all the amenities of a fine B+ B but with the privacy of a fine hotel. Highly recommended. |

I'm definitely a Jersey Mike's fan. They bake their own bread and slice the cold cuts for each sandwich to order. Although it seems the original location in Point Pleasant is always best. |

Alberto's in Hyannis: off night or downward trend? The old Barolo location in Hyannis is the one I meant. |

Alberto's in Hyannis: off night or downward trend? So sorry to hear Alberto's not being up to par. I've found them to be one of the old reliables in town for many, many years. Another spot that always pleases is Il Maestro, tho I've yet to try their new location. Anyone been? Slightly off topic, would you care to share your dishwasher recipes. Sounds interesting at the very least. |

Best fried Clams in Rhode Island? Really, Governor Francis is the best. Good old school honest food. Try it you'll like it. |

Heading there now. Tobey Hill, previously at Pain D'avignon is cooking. Love his food. |

Hope to find the best on the Cape this summer. My first stop was Marathon in Dennis. It was a good sized order and the price was right but more fried flavor than oyster flavor. Nice homemade tartar sauce. |

Food and Football on mid/lower Cape Cod Can't say I"ve been there, but Starvin Marlin in Brewster is something I plan to check out for the same purpose. (p.s. my significant other had a restaurant called Old Kemah Tavern at the Hot Stove location for many years) Good place , good people. |

Friendly Fisherman: seasonal or year round? Friendly Fisherman is great, plus did you know they have great pies? |
|

could you please let me know the Cape restaurant? I live here and there's no chinese that blows me away. That would be a pleasant surprise. Thanks. |

As far as tomatoes go, this spring was very wet and cold. The heat loving crops are a few weeks behind schedule. It shouldn't be long til they're bountiful, I can't wait ! But the cool weather crops were incredible. |

Although $21 is on the high side it definitely wasn't the $6.99 stop & shop cod to begin with. The fishmonger I tend to prefer on west main also has high prices but is the freshest of the fresh, high quality seafood, I never regret paying for. Add in all the overhead of running a business and there you go.( do you think he pays his Dad?) |

Went to the Black Cat recently specifically to see Lou Columbo, I was wowed by the roasted cod with scallion rice and coconut lime broth. And I'm not easily wowed. |

You should definitely try Lucky Garden in North Providence. Their dim sum is a fun and delicious cheap eats. |
|

Nooooooooooooo celery please! |

I'm a vendor at the Harwich farmers market and the word from locals and tourists alike is Andale is worth the visit. As far as prices go, although some places might stretch my budget I know when it's worth it.(Think omakase at the sushi bar of Misaki) ----- |

Top picks in the Dennis area ? It seems to me there is usually at least one thing at any restaurant I can recommend. At Marshside it's the view. Another place I love for one thing is Chapins, 99 cent shucked in front of you oysters, yum. |

Please Help me Find My Perfect Remebered Clamcake Actually the clamcakes at George's are quite good and very popular. But only if you're a seagull. (absolutely no such thing as a clam fritter in RI) |

I will have to say I mostly agree with chathaminn regarding Cape Cod dining. It's not that there aren't any great places , just few and far between. By the way CCG glad you finally came around on your opinion of Pain D'avignon. |

I second RIRN's opinion of Buono's. Since pizza strips consist of basically two ingredients(dough and sauce) they both have to shine. The bread at this bakery is my favorite in RI. Many times when out to eat if the bread is great I'll ask where it's from, 9 times out of ten it's Buono's. |

What's the sushi scene in Providence? I know this is a typically RI response but I still miss New Japan. These days it's Haruki. ----- |

Also enjoy the Mooring, over the 20+ years we've been going there. It's interesting to think how I would feel about many of my favorite spots if I didn't eat meat tho. |

Salvation Cafe might be something you would like. Another place to try is the West Deck.( I think it's called @ The Deck now) |

Gave the wrong date for the "Oysterpalooza" at Embargo. It's tonite. Wed 10/10. Sorry. |
|
|
Had nice fresh ice cold briney yummy oysters at Chapins this weekend. The owner of the grant told me they were having "Oysterpalooza" at Embargo Wednesday 10/11. Four different oyster farms will be there, and so will I. |

Just gave Oyster Company another try after a bad experience this summer. Unfortunately the results were the same. We even asked the server if the oysters were opened to order and she assured us they were. Our first hint they were pre-shucked was the fact that although we each ordered a dozen they were served 6 to the plate( like CCG mentioned they are running coupons lately) . One quick look confirmed it. Oh well 2 strikes and you're out. |

Heritage Turkey worth the cost? This year I found Miss Scarlett's Blue Ribbon Farm at the farmers market in Osterville. Every week she had the best selection of fruits and veggies, many of them heirloom varieties. She also raises chickens and heritage breed turkeys. The farm is off 6A in Yarmouth. Check her website for more info. |
