"Town" 3435 Waialae Ave., Honolulu, HI 96816

As posted in another thread, I decided to call and speak with the Gen. Mgr. and also emailed them re: spotty service and food. They have responded by inviting us back on the house. Very generous and gracious

Dining Recommendations in Kaimuki (Honolulu)

Decided to follow up and call and spoke with the Gen. Mgr. who encouraged me to email my less than stellar dining experience details -
I am glad to say that there was a response inviting us back to dine again on the house.
This says a lot about the establishment.

Never got to try Momomo - now they're gone

Dining Recommendations in Kaimuki (Honolulu)

Olive Tree - I used to go there almost weekly because Tuesday's was Saffron Chicken - a tomatoe white wine onion cinnamon & other spices served with long grain rice and mix greens feta dressing. I also like their Fish Souvlaki and their sauce that goes in the pita, just had that a couple of days ago.

Best pasta sauce in a jar?

I so agree that you have to try all kinds of sauces, I like Mezzettas' , Barilla's . Williams Sonoma are pricey but so delish, I have enjoyed ALL of them, and end up having a favorite for awhile and then switch.

Japanese Favorites on Oahu

TOKKURI-TEI .....in Kapahulu! Yes to this place, one of my favorites, variety and freshness!

Honolulu/Oahu--udon and/or soba joint?

Kahala Sushi @ Zippy's in Kahala - believe it or not: Udon and Green Soba -excellent! Love it when I crave it!

"Town" 3435 Waialae Ave., Honolulu, HI 96816

I've been reading about "Town" - just got back from dining there for dinner. Some items were surprisingly good and others really disappointing. I've been there for late lunch and enjoyed soup and salad.

A party of four: we ordered the opah, mahi mahi and 2X Kulana strip loin beef medium rare. EVERYTHING was over salted! Was this a cover up? We mentioned to our waiter, who was very nice and accommodating, however no one from management came over to speak with us, and I guess we should have requested management come speak with us.

The salad with the buttermilk dressing was fresh and good, the arugula salad, ok. The nicest dish was the "home made portuguese sausage vegetable soup" which was lightly flavored and all the veggies were fresh and perfectly done. The ahi tartare was served on round toast and tasty.

Dessert: mango sorbet, choco-hazelnut gelato and guava "floutis" were good. I was so looking forward to coming away with gustatory elation but not to be!

The Pineapple Room

It's been awhile since my last visit, perhaps last year, and I see that things have not changed. I do like the food at Pineapple Room, but I am turned off by the chairs, carpet and the lack of service. There isn't anything there I have to have when the ambience is totally lacking

Early Breakfast in Honolulu?

Hilton Waikoloa? This hotel is located on the island of Hawaii also referred to as the Big Island and not in Honolulu, which is on the island of Oahu. A little confusing if you have not been to the State of Hawaii. If you are on the Big Island at the Hilton Waikoloa, last I recall, staying there is like a little village unto itself. You have to get on a little boat/ferry depending on where your room is located to get around the hotel grounds. It is a very large property. I would think that your conference organizer would have provided you with some options since you have such an early start 6-7am? I myself have ordered room service or gone to breakfast buffet.

Best Chinese Restaurant in Honolulu Chinatown?

Will have to try GOOD LUCK CAFE and get back to this thread. Recently went to Joyful Gardens in Kaneohe, some dishes good, had shrimp/veggies, house crispy noodles, taro basket. NO to custard, baked egg cream and steamed egg cream, the filling was disappointing. The chinese chicken salad was cabbage with thin thousand island dressing. I am used to chinese chicken salad with white vinegar dressing and iceberg lettuce and wonton strips with lots of shredded chicken.

Post Funeral Gathering in Honolulu

Loving memories of your Dad, rest in peace

best steaks in Oahu

I've dined at DK Steakhouse and prefer this place to Ruth's Chris or Morton's. Hy's is also excellent.

2nd time request!! best peking duck and cake noodle on Oahu?????

Since UES Mayor will likely be coming back in Dec: Peking Duck @ Royal Garden in Ala Moana Hotel was good, as for Cake Noodle, that would be Happy Days in Kaimuki, always fresh and good. My daughter & I have to have Roast Duck Noodle Soup there, consistently good.
