Nantucket for the weekend! Would love any recs!
Hey everyone!
I'm headed to Nantucket this weekend for a wedding. Would love to hear any recommendations you have. I'm really down for anything. Moderately priced dinner, lunch recs, or any odds and ends that I can't miss!
Thanks!
Newburgh, NY and Environs
I just realized this original post was on Aug 2008. A bit late. lol.
Newburgh, NY and Environs
Well I live in Monroe so I do know the area pretty well. My favorite spot to eat Mexican in town is Tulcingo's, its cheap and pretty darn good! If you want something a little more well know there is Haciendas in Chester. They can get a bit expensive but the place is very festive. For another quick bite my favorite pizza place is Marina's (I haven't been happy eating pizza anywhere else, except NYC, since I've eaten their pizza).
My all time favorite place around the area is Angelo's in Harriman. It is a very small Italian restaurant. If you decide to go make a reservation, especially on the weekend. Its also BYOB in case you want to enjoy a glass of wine with dinner. Don't tell too many people about it! lol.
Megavore's Guide to Portland
I went to Portland a few weeks ago. My top spots were...
For breakfast... The Porthole - http://www.portholemaine.com/
Lunch/dinner...Bingas Wingas (if you want sports/wings/beer) http://www.bingaswingas.com/
Lunch/dinner.. Flatbread Company http://flatbreadcompany.com/
What are the best places to eat in Bingahamton/Oneonta???
The only thing I can remember of note in Oneonta is Brooks. It really does have a reputation up there, although I wouldn't go as far as saying amazing bbq. Hits the spot though. It is just past the Price Chopper on Main street/Route 7.
From NY to Dover, NH to Portland, ME. What should I eat!?
Just a little update...we didn't end up spending much time in Dover after visiting the radio station. We didn't really want to sit and eat, we were eager to get back on the road. We ate pizza at some place that claimed to have "New York Style brick oven pizza". It was decent but I am spoiled by real New York pizza. They did have these great (fattening) cinnamon knots. Yum!

I forgot about Brotherhood! Beautiful building.
From NY to Dover, NH to Portland, ME. What should I eat!?
I'm driving up with a friend to Portland this coming Monday-Wednesday. We are stopping in Dover, NH for lunch (because we are visiting the WOKQ radio station). The biggest question I have is...where should we eat lunch there? We were first intrigued by the Silver Moon Creperie but they are closed on Mondays.
We have already been to Portland so we have a good idea on where to go up there. But if there are any must eats you want to share I would love to hear about them.

I have not personally been to this winery but I have heard good things. I was told the six course northern Italian style meal was GREAT. I didn't hear many comments on the wine though.

Burgers on the LES!?
For a nice date night. Looking for a good burger and a good beer somewhere on the LES. Thanks in advance!
Best cider donuts in Dutchess, Ulster or Orange County?
Tantillos Farm Market makes my favorite cider donuts! Get them at the right time ( freshly made)...o my goodness! They are great normal temp too! There isn't a lot of extra stuff to do except the normal apple picking and such.

My second favorite apple cider donuts are from Roe's Orchard in Chester, NY. For years I thought it was Rose's Orchard! They are a little out of the way and they don't have additional things to do. All their baked goods are amazing! Have to get there early to snag the good stuff! They don't have a website either.
What do you mix with ketchup?
Sriracha and ketchup! I like to dip french fries in it.
Weekend in Baltimore
Hey everyone! I'm gonna be spending a weekend in Baltimore in September. I'm looking for MUST EAT places. I heard something about a great BBQ place in the area so hopefully someone can point me in the right direction. Also heard something about some great Seafood. All casual places/dives...no expensive/fancy spots.
Besides good food spots, I'm also interested in any bars that have a good beer selection. I'm a huge craft beer loon and would love to try something new.
Thanks!
Beacon's blessings...
O my goodness!!! Love both these places. Especially Poppy's! Best burger I have ever had!
Ribs in the Hudson Valley
I have been meaning to go to this place. Brothers BBQ. I kinda forgot about it to tell you the truth. I can't wait!!
Ribs in the Hudson Valley
I need some serious ribs! Looking for a couple recommendations for the Hudson Valley area. I'm from Monroe...but willing to travel a bit for something really worth it. Please help! I have been craving them for weeks now!
Beer bar for a short Boston visit
I will be visiting next weekend and was wondering if anybody could recommend a great bar to go to. I'm interested in quiet bars with a GREAT beer selection. I am already visiting Sam Adams and Harpoon but need a place to go to for a night on the town.
