Chicago's Dim Sum, and Vietnamese restaurants

Coming back to Chicago this weekend and want to do it Asian style (well...after we blew all our cmoney on steakhouses and at the Trump last weekend.) Had a ton of fun last time with everyone's recs.

Here is a list of what we are looking for. Thanks in advance :-)

1/ Vietnamese pho for Sat dinner
Our friend suggests Hoang Cafe on Argyle. Agree? Disagree?

2/ Dim Sum Sun brunch
Been to Phoenix, very good! Any advice on avoiding crowds? Do they take reservations?

Anything else Asian you think is worth a visit too is much much appreciated!

Chicago Steakhouse Recs this weekend

Thanks guys for the recs!

These are the restaurants we went this weekend.

Fri:
Dinner-Grand Lux
I know it's a chain. But food and service are consistent. And we go there mostly for nostalgic reason.

Sat:
Brunch- Bongo Room
Very creative pancakes and waffles. Red velvet pancakes is a must try. Eggs Benny is good. Need to work on the potatoes tho.

Drinks- Rebar at Trump
Good drinks. Love the free peanuts and olives.

Dinner- Rosebud Steakhouse
Very yummy steaks (bone in ribeye, chateaubriand, delmonico) Generous portions on sides. Service is excellent. 3 managers came talk to us throughout the night to make sure we are happy with our steaks.

Sun:
brunch- Portillo's
Great Chicago style hot dogs. Didn't care for the chilli dog.

Thanks again for all the recs. We had a great time!

Chicago Steakhouse Recs this weekend

Will be staying at Renaissance Chicago for the weekend. Looking for a good solid and consistent steakhouse with good wine and cocktails. Nothing gimmicky or gawdy. Heard David Burke is overrated and not very consistent? Morton's and Ruth's are both good but want to try something from Chicago. Interested in Rosebud Steakhouse and Gibson's (looks fully booked already). Anything with same caliber? Thanks!

Recs for Sat and Sun brunch. Sat: Fun and creative Sun: Seafood

Hey Chicago foodies, my family is coming to Chicago for the weekend and am looking for brunch recs for Sat and Sun. We're staying at the Marriott Courtyard downtown.

>> Sat, we would like a brunch restaurant with a rather contemporary, creative and fun menu. So not your tradition OHOP but rather a restaurant that serves Eggs Benny with a twist. Similar to Cora's in Santa Monica and Flytrap in Michigan.

>> Sun, we would like something fancier with things like oysters and prime ribs on the menu. Buffet or a la carte. Never been to Shaw's but looks like a good option.

Thank you!

Authentic Thai restaurants near Ann Arbor or metro Detroit

I have not found an authentic restaurant for Thai food in Michigan. Any recommendations? I have been to Bangkok and just love their Tom Yum Goong there. It's loaded with spices, herbs, chicken and prawns. But most thai restaurants I have been to serve a wimpy vanilla version with almost just clear broth with pathetic pieces of chicken and mushroom floating around.
