Why Does Ketchup on a Hot Dog Piss People Off?

It's about time for an alternative ketchup hot dog. It's purely cultural that many people prefer mustard to ketchup.
A good ketchup is a must for a hot dog... it's messy and sweet.
Maybe, a BBQ sauce is a better idea.

Let's just put some doggies on the barbie!

Jamie Oliver 11 piece set

Years ago, I wanted to buy the Jamie Oliver Cookware Set from Service Merchandise. I waited and waited to save enough money. Now, I've been looking around for any Jamie Oliver Stainless Steel Set. However, throughout the years, I bought a Calphalon Stainless Steel Wok, 2 pieces of 3 Quart sauce pot, a 2 Quart sauce pot, and a 1 Quart sauce pot.
Everyday I cook my omelet , and stir fry my food on the wok. Sometimes, I fry wings on the 3 Quart sauce pot using peanut oil.
I cook my Basmati Rice in a Chinese Clay pot on top of a gas stove.
I never found the Jamie Oliver Stainless Steel Set, but I've cooked some wonderful meals with the Calphalon Stainless Steel pots and pans that I bought from Amazon for $40 each
3 Quart or a Wok. I never regretted buying the Stainless Steel Calphalon pieces. Calphalons are reasonably priced, easy to maintain, and I won't cry if I dropped any pan or pot because they're stainless steel. I want to buy some more frying pans, but I don't have any more room in my kitchen. I'll just have to wait until the pots and pans self-destruct to have a reason to buy a new piece.
Bon Appetite!

Cheap and good food by Niles?

This is a fine Korean Buffet Restaurant. The best time to come is during dinner time after 5PM or during Weekends. Lunch Buffet is very limited to chicken and some fish. You want to have a nice meal with some spicy beef during dinner.
Remember. Only for dinner or lunch on weekends.
I apologize, but I did not see your limit of ten dollars.

Good Chinese dumplings in Chicago?

You might want to try Happy Chef Dim Sum House on Archer Avenue. It's very Chinese. It's not full of tourists. It's a Chinese Restaurant for the Chinese locals. Don't get intimidated by the Chinese Menu. It's like being in China.
A good time to go will be during the lunch hour. Dim Sum pot stickers are just steaming out of the kitchen.

Next time you want fine dining that is easy and not stuffy, try the Curry Hut Restaurant in Highwood Park. You will be transported back to Colonial India with the dishes that are served. You might even think that you are back in Colonial India. You will be served fine meals by cooks who eat their own creations.

Lunch near Daley Center?

This restaurant is the place of refuge for many people in the history of Chicago. A nice traditional German meal with some German wine, or maybe a nice dark beer. Treat yourself to Oktoberfest.

Take buffet platters for 40 person party

This restaurant serves Indian and Nepalese Cuisine. The taste is so subtle that you can taste the mingling of various spices and herbs. Also, you can design your own menu with the manager by calling in advance. The restaurant menu is online. It's better to walk out with a couple of large containers to feed your friends than to try to get individual servings for forty people.
The chicken biryani is a good start to feed enough people. It's the Indian version of chicken fried rice.

Top 3 Hot Dogs

Buffalo Joe's in downtown Evanston, IL is a nice place to eat. You can have your hot dog grilled over charcoal with any topping that you want. Also, the freedom fries are fresh. A nice glass of dark beer is nice.
You can also watch sports on a large screen tv while devouring your hot dog. It's a nice friendly place.

Sommelier/Chef looking for yummy food in Chicago!!

Solga Restaurant is a challenge to your known world. This is about having a nice grill right in the middle of your table to cook meats. The side dishes are enough to make you think about the main meal. There are only a couple of beers from Korea and Japan.
This is about just having fun with your food without feeling stuffy.
Oh! I forgot to tell you that Solga is a Korean Restaurant. Try to grill the short ribs on your table and enjoy the beer with the rest of the meal.
The place is very clean and modern.

Breakfast restaurant that serves dishes in a skillet?

Lou Mitchell's is a fine breakfast place. Yes, they're old fashioned, but the waffle is enormous. The waffle is served with real maple syrup and a large amount of butter. Did I mention the coffee?

Truly good food at a 24 hour restaurant (or at least open until 3:00am)

I know that you're going to be hungry after your plane ride.
Happy Chef Dim Sum House on Archer Avenue in China Town is open until 2AM. The meal is a perfect cure for the weary traveler.
I recommend a hot soup, spicy and salty shrimp, beef with broccoli and some tofu dish. Or, just read the menu and order a live fish or crab and enjoy a meal.
The greasy joint recommended to you might not be your cup of coffee. There are frequent fist fights inside and outside the restaurant that require the presence of Chicago's finest.

Sushi Buffet / All You Can Eat?

Chicago might be in the middle of nowhere, but the price of Sushi is the same anywhere.
Sushi is not Sushi if it was cheap. Unless you want to get sick from tainted raw fish, you might want to just make your own batch of Sushi. No chance of cheap Sushi in Downtown Chicago.
You can go to a Whole Foods Grocer Store and buy a fresh pack of Sushi and eat inside the stalls, but there's no Buffet for Sushi.
No Sushi for you!
Have fun exploring Chicago's Sushi Underground.

Addison Brownline Recs?

You can try Ann Sather's Restaurant for breakfast. It's a nice place to have breakfast. Unfortunately, most of the nice restaurants are on North Clark Street. Or, if you feel adventurous, you can take the Red Line train to Evanston, IL for anything that you want to eat. You can have breakfast at Panera, or eat at Buffalo Joe's for some chicken wings, cheddar chips and a cold beer.
There are many varieties of restaurants in Evanston without the big price of the Lakeview Area.
It cost more money to play and eat near Wrigleyfille, because of the tourists. It cost less to eat and play in Evanston, because it's a college town.

Fine dining and other good eats in Chicago

I can recommend Lou Mitchel's Cafe near the Union Station. The Restaurant has a nice breakfast atmosphere. Try the Waffle with maple syrup.
For lunch or dinner, I recommend two Chinese Restaurants.
1) Lao Sze Chuan (2172 S. Archer Ave. Chicago, IL 60616) Phone:1-312-326-5040
I call this restaurant Old China. How to order. Never order beef, chicken, or fish twice. The idea of a Chinese meal is variety. 1 beef, 1 chicken, 1 tofu, 1 soup. Each of these dishes is usually served with vegetables.
2) Happy Chef is in the same mall as Lao Sze Chuan.
Try the Spicy Shrimp, or try these. Beef with Chinese Broccoli, and fried Angel Fish. All you have to do is read the menu, and you can use the variety formula to have a nice meal.
In Chinese Dining, there's no salad or dessert.
You can go to a nice Panera Bakery for some coffee and pastries.
Don't feel intimidated about going to China Town. It's like traveling to a part of China without a passport.
Have fun.

Breakfast N. Michigan Ave. area?

Good Luck!
Most of the Breakfast places around Michigan Avenue are either too expensive or just a hole in the wall.

Filipino Food

You might want to try a more traditional restaurant on Devon Avenue and Caldwell. It's a small place that is very traditional. It's so traditional that I can't stand the atmosphere. It just reminds me of big meals in the Philippines.
I usually eat by myself for a nice quite restaurant meal. Rambutan is an experimental Filipino Restaurant that goes beyond the peasant cuisine of the Philippines. If you're a hungry Joe, who wants to eat like a farmer, then Rambutan is not the place for you.
Rambutan are memories of Filipino Cuisines without intimidating Americans.
Many Filipino Restaurateurs don't consider food hygiene a requirement for running a shabby food stall. I literally walked into Filipino Restaurants with dogs and cats inside the kitchen and inside the dining area.
Anyway, a large serving from a decent Filipino Restaurant will fill your belly until you scream...heart attack!
Rambutan Restaurant is a concept that caters to people with artistic taste in food. If you want a large amount of food with a decent quality for taste, try The Happy Chef in China Town.
