Best CHOWDER in Nova Scotia and PEI?
The BEST chowder i have ever had is from the Innlet Cafe in Mahone Bay,and the second best is at the Sou'wester Restaurant in Peggy's Cove,(also try the Gingerbread with whipped cream for dessert,its awesome!) the 3rd best is at Masstown Market,Masstown,NS (just outside of Truro). I havent eaten at LeGabriel in Cheticamp yet, but i've heard their chowder is amazing too! The best place for fish and chips,I've found, is the Shillelagh House Restaurant, Old Barns near Truro. Huge servings and hand-made fish and chips and coleslaw,a meal made in Heaven!
West Island gems (just moved to Lachine)
I have lived in Lachine just 2 years now but these are my personal favorites:
THE best Italian/Pasta place in Lachine is Pasta Andreas great homemade pasta,and very friendly service!
Best Mexican: El Meson has pretty good Mexican food and great margaritas!
Best 'American-style' pizza (Thick crust and loaded) is Arena's Pizza. Their 'Arena Special' is my fav.....Bardeco's is a little more 'italy traditional'-thin crust with more gourmet toppings.
Best Chinese is Dragon Loon Wah
Greek: best souvlaki chicken plate(take-out/delivery) is from Trans-Canada....also their subs(steak or pepperoni) are toasted and awesome as well.
Best sushi is Hentai on St.Joseph,or Tubomi on Notre Dame (a little hole in the wall but really good) or H2O in Dorval.
Dorval also has Barbies restaurant,(just past 55th off Victoria,the tail end of Lachine) my fav spot for breakfast and great 2 for 1 deals on lunch/supper...go to their website for printable coupons.Their food is great!
Speaking of Dorval-there is Chows restaurant for Chinese,I think they deliver to Lachine as well, but their buffet is a fav place of mine...not huge, but they have been there a long time and the food is really quite good,another little hole in the wall gem.....

Another pretty good pizza place in Lachine is Arena Pizza......their 'Arena Special' is my fav! Yummy old fashioned goodness!
Pesticide free apple-picking near Montreal
Honeycrisp apples are the BOMB!! Hard to find here, (I'm originally from N.S.) although I did manage to get some from Quinn Farms last year.(they ship most of theirs out of Province)
