Hoi An, Vietnam specialty restaurant

hey taster, we loved the food of Hoi An. We loved two restaurants. 1.mango rooms which is run by a chef named Duc who does variations on the traditional hoi an dishes you mentioned. but its inventive, delicious and right on the river. For more white rose and Cua Lau Try Van Loc a restaurant run by the family who lives upstairs. (toothbrushes in bathroom!!) its on #27Tran Pho street. spend some time in Hoi An and have clothes tailor made. Silk cashmere pants and shirts Wow

Hanoi Help

we just returned from hanoi and The city is famous for its street food. as mentioned the top two are Cha Ka la Vong. for tumeric fried fish. and bun Ch(Grilled sausage patty) and nem cua be(fried seafood w beef eggrolls made with a rice wrapper) at #1 Hang Mahn Street. Vietnamese are personally clean but that does not extend to the streets which tend to be dirty. Its a different culture than ours (which is why you are going) embrace it. Both of these meals with a larue beer will set you back abouyt 3$ US As for Hoi An i second the mango rooms run by an inventice chef named Duc. if you're into the traditional hoi an dishes aka cu lau (pork w noodles)and white rose(rice dumplings w seafood and carmalized shallots Yum try Restaurant Van Loc on #27 Tran Pho Street

Nem Chua [moved from General Topics]

Bob, Just got back from Hanoi. The pork patty which is grilled and served with noodles ,herbs, rice vermicelli is called bun Cha. Nem cua be is a crab& meat eggroll which is fried. At a famous bun cha place #1 hang mahn street old quarter hanoi serves both bun cha and nem cua over rice noodles with herbs, fish sauce....amazing with cold Larue beer. As for recipes try a google search but get ready for lots of ingredients. joel
