Mom's night out: Need suggestions for dinner and dancing near W Hotel in Boston
Hi all,
I am heading to the W Hotel in Boston with a few other stay-at-home moms who are desperately in need of a night out with the girls (and a morning sleeping in!).
We are going to be in downtown Boston but we're all from Cambridge, so we're looking for a recommendation for where we should eat and go dancing. For dinner, we'd like to stay on the inexpensive side, but good food and drinks are necessary. Perhaps there's a solid ethnic restaurant nearby that fits the bill? That would be ideal. And after dinner. It's time to go dancing! I know this is a foodie forum, but any help with good, non-cheesy dance spots (or at least places where four 30-some year-old women won't feel like total a-holes) would be much appreciated!
Best coffee shops near red line T-stops in Cambridge
Wow these seem like great suggestions. Thank you guys!
Best coffee shops near red line T-stops in Cambridge
I'm looking for some interesting coffee shops where I can have work meetings (I work from home), that are near the red line and also have good coffee! Any suggestions would be highly appreciated. As of now, I usually go to 1369 in Central, which is nice, but I'd like to mix it up a little.
Kid friendly restaurant in downtown SF?
I'm looking for a good restaurant in downtown SF that is not too expensive, has high chairs, and will have enough room for two babies. I know it's a tall order! But hopefully there is at least one out there. And by downtown, I mean I'd prefer financial district or close to the Bay Bridge. But I guess anywhere that would be easy to get from 101 would be okay.
Lobster in Manhattan
I'm looking for a restaurant where I can take my parents, who are from Wisconsin and love lobster--well actually seafood of all kind but especially lobster. I'd prefer it to be a place that's a little funky or fun instead of like a stuffy steakhouse. Also, it would be great to not have to break the bank on this meal although I realize good lobster usually isn't cheap. Oh, and we'll need a little bit of ambiance. Not a lot, but I am inviting some other friends so we're not looking for a place where we'll all have to sit at a counter. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Coffee shops on the 2/3 subway line
I'm pretty new to the city and looking for a good coffee shop on the 2/3 subway line between Harlem and Chelsea. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Want to impress friends from out of the country
Wow your posts were incredibly helpful.
As for your questions Kathryn, they are coming the last week of May. It will be four of us dining (two couples). Preferably we'd like to find a gem of a restaurant that is very unique but not incredibly expensive. In San Francisco terms, I'd love to find a Bar Crudo instead of a Gary Danko. If we were in SF we'd probably take them either to Bar Crudo or Blowfish Sushi. As for NY, the only place on your list I've been to is Gramercy Tavern. The food was excellent I'd like to take these guys somewhere where the ambiance/experience feels a little more unique.
Want to impress friends from out of the country
I have two dear friends coming to the U.S. for the first time from Jordan and I really want to wow them with some great culinary experiences. Unfortunately, I just moved here from San Francisco so I'm still learning the scene. So I need your help. Here's what I'm looking for:
1) Best bagel place in NY for breakfast
2) Best deli in NY for lunch
3) Really standout restaurant for dinner that has not only amazing atmosphere but also is a real culinary experience. I'm open to all types of cuisine but the most important thing is that it's somewhere you've gone that you thought was really unique and special.
Thanks!
bay area nowruz/persian new year?
Maykadeh is in North Beach and I went there on Noruz with my (now) Persian husband for our first date. Alborz is on Vanness in Pac Heights and I'm sure they do something for Noruz. My husband and I think the best Persian restaurant in the area is Shalizaar but it's about 25 minutes away in Belmont. Also, the best Persian grocery is in Mountain View and it's called Rose Market. They have everything you need there to make all the traditional karafs and polos. They also sell great kabobs. If you need good recipes, check out this woman's blog: http://mypersiankitchen.com/.
3 day food itinerary in San Fran - how does it look?
If you want good thin crust pizza, the best in the city is at A-16. I was surprised but it never disappoints. Beretta is a close second. Delfina's is up there but it can be hit or miss.
Looking for awesome but affordable restaurant near the red line.
These are great! Thanks so much.
Looking for awesome but affordable restaurant near the red line.
It's a group of 8 people and by not pricey I mean that someone could get a meal for under $30. Thanks

I'm heading to Boston in a few weeks and am looking for a great but not super pricey place to have dinner with a group of friends. Everyone is coming from different places so we need a place near the red line train. I'll be coming from Back Bay. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
