Thanks for the Linda's v. Ohlin's comparison. Linda's is already quite sweet (I mean, it is a DOUGHNUT after all); there's no need for something even more sweet than that. Still, I do need to try Ohlin's one day. Good report, thanks. |

digga, I've gotten some pretty respectably hot stuff from Montien, off the Thai menu. Also, you can make it even hotter with the sauces they provide. |

To address your amended request: I haven't eaten there in a while, but for a simple, comfort-food type place, Silvertone has a phenomenal wine list at great prices. |

Little Lamb Mongolian Hot Pot (Beacon Hill) now open Though you were disappointed in that broth, I think I'd like to change my screen name to "rojo furioso". I actually peeked in yesterday, but was REALLY short on time, so the quick service comment struck a chord with me. But, hey, people go to HarGar and the Hill for lunch... Still, I would like to know how they picked that location. Great rent after being vacant for so long? |

Is there anyplace nearly as good as Wilson Farms further North?? I'm surprised that they even have cupcakes. Could you tell if they were they made there, or outsourced? |

"I'm jealous of the perfect Oleana patio night!" - Me too. I did not know that traditional Armenian goods were readily available in Toronto. Sofra was definitely a good move then. Thank you for the write-up. |

OC, just curious: how would you compare Ohlin's to Linda's. And, if you've ever been there, Kane's in Saugus?? (My current fav, though generally impossible to get to for me.) I've had Linda's and they were fine, but didn't really feel like going back (would go if I heard there is a specific donut that is worth it.) I have not yet been to Ohlin's. It's on my list, but I really don't eat donuts that often. Like, 2-3x per year, perhaps. |

Delux is fine, and is not far from where you're staying, but really nothing special for an out of towner. Really, gourmaniac has a couple great posts with all you need. You will have a car, right? |

My first Prezza experience: the wine is superb, the food and service not so much Not sure what's going on there. The Raviolo di Uovo used to be their "go to" dish. They shouldn't be mucking that up, ever. I mean, things happen, but it happened to both you and Devra... that is very surprising. And I've always found the meats well prepared. So that's weird, too. I've also had good gnocchi there. My experiences there were all pre-fire. Hope this isn't a DH alert. |

Yes, and I would actually skip Sofra in that case. |

Just had a KILLER lamb meatball sandwich (on a pita) from TR Street Food at Tavern Road. The lamb meatballs themselves were very tasty, but the accoutrements really made the sandwich. Semi-off topic, but this was my first visit to TR Street Food, and everything on the menu has potential. Will definitely head back many times with the goal of trying everything! |

Toronto hound visiting Boston this weekend Friendly Toast is NOTHING like Shopsin's. Not nearly as good. Fine for breakfast since you're in the area, but not otherwise worth recommending. |

I generally like D'Guru, but was disappointed by a goat entree that I had a coupla weeks ago. They had not boned the goat first. Now, I am generally OK with animals which have not been boned! But when you serve it chopped up in bite-size pieces, I think you should bone it (the goat). |

Is there anyplace nearly as good as Wilson Farms further North?? Pies, especially. |

April 2013 Openings and Closings Last i heard, Crossroads somehow managed to stay open until April 20. Any news since then? (They were probably closed on Friday, though :-( ) |

I was propelled to get the lamb and goat cheese sandwich at Flour today. A very good sandwich, but inferior to Artu's lamb & eggplant sandwich. I think the goat cheese element could have been more goat-y. Also, I think I prefer Flour's roast beef sandwich. However, I've last had Artu's sandwich well over a year ago. Anyone been more recently and is it holding up? Where else has notable lamb sandwiches? Some additional lamb sandwich discussion here: |

Please check my Chinatown Itinerary.... Can't speak for SG, but I'm pretty sure he meant the Portuguese tart at Great Taste Bakery, on Beach St. I'm a big fan of that dessert, too. Very delicate flavor. I'm also a big fan of Best Little, for all that other stuff, too. Big fan. |

Szechuan's Dumpling Is Amazing, Lucky Arlington Not a fan of the oldies radio format, but these dumplings were good. |

Szechuan's Dumpling Is Amazing, Lucky Arlington Dammit! I saw that appetizer on the menu yesterday, and somehow "lost track" of it before ordering. Yeah, I need to get back soon for that. Had the Shang Dong dumplings which were excellent. What does "shang dong" mean? Lo mein had an interesting funky taste, like no lo mein I've had before. Just noodles, nothing mixed in. DC said "menthol"??? Pork and bamboo was also excellent, but was listed as a spicy item, but was absolutely mild. Do I need to give the secret handshake there for them to bring out the spice? Salt and pepper chicken wings were very good, perfectly fried. Though again, not spicy at all. |

I just saw somewhere that some Top Chef person is going to take over at Menton. I'm not really a chef follower, but while he was at No. 9, Colin Lynch served one of the top 5 or so meals of my life. Wondering if anyone knows where he's going next. (If I even have accurate info about Menton, which I might not!) |

4 days in boston with adventurous chow kids. No, Tavern Road is near the Children's museum. Practically across the street. It opens at 5. |

4 days in boston with adventurous chow kids. Just get a week-long t-pass. Even for four days, you will more than get your money's worth. No need for cabs at all. With or without foot problems, a car would be more of a hindrance than an asset in Boston. |

Paddy, when used in a general sense to refer to "Irish people" can be seen as derogatory. HOWEVER, if it is that person's actual name, it is not. |

Beacon Grille to become a Strega OT, but that is probably one of the three most hideous buildings in New England. I wish it would crumble and fall to the ground (miraculously with no one in it, of course). |

Yes, I do find the Aperol a little less bitter in there. But I like the classic Negroni also. I did not realize Campari had purchased them! I have put a dash of St Germain in a classic Negroni also. Not bad. Re: Summer. I sometimes leave the Campari in the fridge, not because it needs to be in there, but to minimize immediate dilution when I made a Campari and soda. |

There's a new (to me) pull down menu at the top, under the CHOW logo. It says "St. Patty's Recipes". I'm neither Irish nor Catholic, but I believe the nickname for St. Patrick is St. Paddy. Then again, I say panino when there is only one sandwich involved, so maybe I'm too picky. |

I did end up at Scuola Vecchia one day. Great true Neapolitan-style pizzas. Would definitely go back. Wanted something a little simpler on day two, and ended up at Caffe Martier, which was good. I had the chicken and brie panino and DC had an Asian salad, or something like that. Both were solid café-type food items. |

Burrito Express- Bedfordt St Boston Doesn't look good at all. An official sign on the window says something like "Premises were seized per order of the trial court." Yikes. Do any readers work in the law and/or know what that means? |

Ha, Lake Worth! I'll be spending most of my time in WPB, so maybe I'll hit that place up another day. "Not that remarkable"... fair enough! Thanks for the info. |
