ALTA is booked up tonight, need another restaurant idea to take my bf out to dinner tonight.. HELP!

I second Txikito, although it can be hard to get a table if you got at peak times, since the place is not very large.

Bars that serve Kombucha or other good non-alcoholic drinks?

I'd like to know if there are places in Manhattan that serve good non-alcoholic drinks.

I'm a fan of Kombucha (fermented tea), but I'm open to trying other things. I've had a few non-alcoholic beers, but the few I've had are not much different from a budweiser (watery and bland, not my taste). I don't drink (or like) soft-drinks, I find them too sugary.

Anyone know of a nightlife place with good non-alcoholic options?

Driving from Stamford, CT to Portland, ME and have no plans whatsoever

Leaving in about 45 minutes :) -- coming back Monday.

Do you have any suggestions for places to go? We have literally no plans, and no prejudices, so we're down to go further north. Only constraint is that we only have three days for the trip.

I'm pretty curious about the lobster rolls at Just Barb's ( from this thread: http://chowhound.chow.com/topics/544897 ) -- so was planning on going up that far north, we're happy to drive up a bit further for food :)

Thanks Joscelyn! I assume the lobster is of comparable quality in Portsmouth? Do you know if blueberries are still in season?

Dear Hounds,

My girlfriend and I are escaping from NYC to drive up to Maine this weekend. We have no plans at all, but I've never been to Maine so we figured we'd head up there.

We're looking for recommendations for places to stop on the way (or make a detour for). We were thinking of going through Rhode Island on the way, and possible head back on a different route (New Hampshire, Vermont, and Western Mass?).

I know it's pretty vague, but we really have no plans, so we're really flexible (we may even go to Cape Cod instead of Maine). We are not picky eaters, love seafood, and are most interested in taking advantage of things that aren't particularly available / cheap in NYC.

We stopped by Clinton, CT for Lobster rolls at the Lobster Landing, they were excellent. But otherwise, we don't know the area.

Thanks!
