Where to go in TO tonight?

Thanks for the suggestions, turned out I had to work late so the late seating at Sidecar fit the bill. I will try some of the others that were suggested soon.

We had a 9:30 reservation but when we got there we were told that because of the weather they had a several late groups and our table wasn't ready. They were quite apologetic and gave us complimentary drinks at the bar.

We didn't get seated until almost 10:30 but it was okay because they kept repeating their apologies and by that time we had received complimentary orders of tempura shrimp and Tuna Conserva, as well as three glasses of wine.

Once seated everyone enjoyed their meals and the service was excellent. I will defintiely return, and maybe even hope that we have to wait for our table again!

Where to go in TO tonight?

Hey guys,

Brother-in-law from Vancouver is in town with his girlfriend and I'm looking for a mid-priced place to take them out tonight.

Based on my research here I'm thinking 5th Elementt or Sidecar. I tried to get a reservation at Sidecar but there was nothing until too late.

Any other last minute suggestions in the $30 range for entree and app.

Choice of Theatre district restaurants

Hey guys and gals,

I have been reading through the archives of posts about restaurants near the Princess of Wales Theatre and now realize that the general feeling is that they are -- in general -- lacklustre tourist traps.

That said, I bought tickets to Sound of Music that include dinner at one of the following restaurants:

Alice Fazoolis
Barootes
Big Daddy's
Chic Chinoise
Fred's not Here
Joe Badalis
Kama
Kit Kat
Marcel's
Montana
The Overdraught Irish Pub
Red Tomato
Toula
Trader's

I'm taking my parents and wife and I'm looking for suggestions as to which restaurant to choose. My parent's like most food, although my mom mentioned she might be in the mood for Italian.

Any help would be appreciated.
