Is Begues Sunday brunch any good?
I believe The Roosevelt Blue Room has the best champagne brunch in the city right now.
Galatoire's - favorite dishes?
Ask for Preston to serve you and you will have a wonderful time, he is very entertaining!
Restoration
I went to Redemption about two weeks ago. The place is beautifully restored, better than it was. The owners and wait staff were wonderful. They also had a pianist playing which really suited the place. The food was very good, homemade biscuits placed on the table, etc. Give it a try, I think you will like it.
dining choices for small wedding group
Galatoire's is an excellent choice. For your large party, I would suggest upstairs and make reservations. Ask for Preston as your waiter, he is excellent and will make sure you have a great New Orleans welcome!

Christmas 2010 Eats in New Orleans
You may be thinking about Maggie & Smitty's which was where all of the seafood restaurants were located at the Lakefront (all gone now due to hurricanes). Or Sid-Mar's which is now located in Metairie.
Thanksgiving Hail Mary
Call Galatoire's and make reservations for upstairs. Ask for Preston as your waiter, you won't be disappointed.

SUNDAY BRUNCHES
I had a wonderful brunch yesterday at The Blue Room in The Roosevelt Hotel. Fabulous food, great service, free champagne and the James Rivers Movement playing NO music the entire time! Just great!
Restaurants overlooking the lake on the Southshore
Really the only restaurant in NO with a view of the lake is Landry's Seafood. The view is beautiful but the food is so-so.
Dinner for a Friday Night near the Sheraton on Canal
Cafe Giovanni is located about a block or two away. Excellent Italian food plus opera singers.
BRUNCH BEFORE GIANTS VS SAINTS GAME
Be sure to check out the brunch at LePavilion Hotel at the corner of Poydras and Baronne. It is approximately 3 blocks from the Dome. Good brunch and NO music.
