In dire need of help making YELLOW SQUASH palatable Am I the only one who eats it raw? I'm not nuts about how quickly it turns to mush when cooked; my favorite way to take care of a lot of it really quickly is to slice it and dip it in hummus or white bean dip. yum!!! |

breakfast/brunch in Charlottesville, VA I visited friends in C'ville recently and we had brunch at Bluegrass Grill. I thought it was fabulous! I got whole grain pancakes (yummy yummy) that came with real maple syrup and real butter. The OJ was fresh squeezed and the coffee was good as well. Others at the table got french toast and breakfast burritos and egg dishes, everyone was happy with their food. I don't have anything to compare it to so I have no idea if it's the "best" place. |

Mexican food in the Balto burbs I'm a huge fan of Los Amigos! Never had the overcharging issue there, although I think the owner likes us because we have been to Peru and know a tiny bit (really tiny bit) about Peruvian food. Not sure if the Mexican is as authentic as the Peruvian, but everything I've had there has been delicious! I eat at Holy Frijoles quite a bit, just because it's the closest place that's decent and cheap (and I like the atmosphere.) Food is far from great, but better than most of our other local options! Zen West is practically inedible, Loco Hombre is only so-so and way overpriced, etc. |
