pacquiao vs cotto - where to watch in Huntington Beach or anywhere in OC/Long Beach

You might want to call around. Smooth's in Long Beach on Pine St. can be an option. There's also Legends in Belmont Shore on 2nd St. Cirivellos in Lakewood is also a local sports bar. I would call to see which bars will be hosting the fight. Good Luck! I'm looking forward the fight as well!

Best fried chicken in LA? where is it?

I went to Porky's in Long Beach yesterday after reading this post and getting hungry for fried chicken. I was disappointed by the lack of seasoning. The chicken was fried nice and crisp but not very flavorful. I like Honey's Kettle but I'm surprised no one has mentioned Knott's Berry Farm. The have great fried chicken and you can have it for breakfast, lunch and dinner.

For Those Of You Who Loved Taco Bells Bellbeefer...

I used to work at Taco Bell as a teenager and we used to make and sell an item called the
"Bellbeefer" that was basically the same taco meat served in tacos but served on a hamburger bun with lettuce, cheese and tomato. I have been searching for such an item and literally fell upon a small restaurant in Long Beach that does a great version of the Taco Bell original. It is a bit more spicier and you have to ask to have the cheese and tomato added but they've never charged me more for those requests. The restaurant is named Great Mex and they have other locations in Costa Mesa and Newport Beach(www.greatmexgrill.com). On Sundays the burgers are only $1.00 each. The normal price is $1.95. They also have Mexican Coke to help wash away the heat. Tuesdays and Fridays have tacos for only $1.00 each. For those of you who remember the old "Bellbeefer" I think you'll be very happy to know you can still find a suitable version after Taco Bell got rid of "the bun".

Monday dinner near LAX?

There's a very good Mexican restaurant near the airport in Westchester. Paco's Taco's has good food and the best part is the hand made fresh tortilla's. Yum!

In Town For U2 in Pasadena...Breakfast Suggestions?

Thanks to all and I apologize for using the wrong terminology. All of the suggestions sound great and I can see that I'll have to make a return trip to try them all. Thanks again!

In Town For U2 in Pasadena...Breakfast Suggestions?

Hello fellow Chowders...the wife and I are going to the U2 concert in Pasadena and sticking around and going to the Huntington Library the following day. Any suggestions for breakfast in that area? I'm not familiar with Pasadena and we're willing to drive a bit if it's relatively close. Not looking for anything fancy...just good ol' American or Mexican breakfast will do. Thanks!

Recommendations for wife's birthday on the West Side or in South Bay?

Providence is an excellent suggestion...one of the few Michelin rated restaurants in Los Angeles...

Seeking Carne Asada marinade used by Vallarta Mart Mexican grocery store

There is a small restaurant in Wilmington that all the longshoremen in the area go to for carne asada. It 's called Issac's and it's in a neighborhood on Fries Ave. I remember when it was just a building without even their name printed anywhere. From there it's grown to accomodate some seating but not much. Their carne asada burritos are excellent. But sometimes they're not as juicy as other days so hopefully you get it on a good day. They also have a "Jones" burrito that is a red chile burrito with avocado and cheese. Very tasty!!!
