Easter dinner 30A/Destin
I have not been to Destin in a while. Old favorites are what I usually stick to, so try Harbor Docks or Bud & Allies. Both have been around forever and have always been good. If you are feeling hoity-toity try Fish Out Of Water at the Watercolor resort. I went a few years ago right when it opened, and it remains the only restaurant in the 850 area code that ever had the temerity to serve me and amuse bouche.
top subs hogies grinders in fla
The RBCC sandwiche at Bagel Bagel in Tallahassee is my favorite. A toasted roast beef and cream cheese sub served with au jus. My wife prefers the wine & cheese sandwiche from the same place. Turkey, bacon, veggies and a port wine cheese sauce toasted.
Both are great. Started as a beer and bagel joint about twenty years ago, now has three locations and turns out great snadwiches.
Is the anything GOOD in Fort Myers!!??
I moved away from Fort Myers about 13 years ago. The only places that I remember from that time that were mentioned in this thread were the Prawnbroker and Plaka I & II (also the chain salad lunch place Sweet Tomatoes).
So if longevity is what you are looking for, there it is.

Menu suggestions for Disney restaurants please
The best food I had during my last Disney visit was at a "character lunch " at the Crystal Palace (for my four year old). It was a high end buffet and the food was great at all levels, meaning stuff for the kids and great stuff for adults. I was tremendously surprised by the skill of the buffet preparation and the variation of the offerings. Fine dining no, but a meal that pleased the entire family fully - absolutely.
CURRENT Tallahassee restaurants
Piggy's is easily the best BBQ place in town right now (a low hurdle). I have enjoyed all the meat selections and my whole family demands the mac & cheese as the side, as they do it quite well.
They also have a great selection of different sauces.
Florida roadside food: the best roads
Try Highway 98 between Perry and Panama City. Quite a few boiled peanut stops. Might see a smoked mullet stand (although these have become incresingly rare in the last 15 years - Net Ban), lots of mom and pop oyster places and seafood shanties. Quite a few places where you can buy fresh shellfish and oysters off the docks.
CURRENT Tallahassee restaurants
Casual-Fine/Date dining: Fusion Cafe, Cypress, Kool Beanz, Clusters & Hops, Sage
BBQ: Piggy's, and maybe Jim & Milt's
Seafood: call me crazy but I still like to have lucnch at barnacle Bill's
Japanese: Kitcho, Sakura
Chinese: no stand outs
Mexican: La Hacienda II, San Miguel, and the quickest lunch in town El Tapatio.
Sandwiches: Bagel Bagel, Po Boys, Luna's
Midtown Lunch: Fusion, Bella Bella, Sakura
Orlando nominees for Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives show
Played a round of golf at MetroWest earlier this year and ended up at a place called Peach river Cafe or some such thing in the western end of Orlando after the round. Awesome shrimp and grits and great pork chops. I have no idea if it was local, a local chain or what, but it was fantastic.
Jacksonville Fish Camps - Which one is best?
I was born and raised in Jacksonville. Moved in 1991, and occasionally go back. The only name I recognize on your list is Singleton's. So if longevity is what you are looking for try that one.
Need Cheap Authentic Cuban Food in Miami
I hate to get this cliched, but - "toss a cat." Just go to the first place with a spanish name and a non-pretentious exterior and you have a 72% chance of getting something authentic and cheap in Miami.
What variety of BBQ is the really good BBQ found all over Florida? What's it called? (Falling off bone, vinegary sauce etc.)
Most Florida BBQ is simply based upon another recognized style.
The sauce I make at home has a ton of brown sugar, citrus juice and zest, mustard and red wine vinegar - the closest thing I know to Florida style sauce (I grew up and still live in North Florida). Focus has always been on sauce with minimal rub and long cooking/smoking time.
Also Floridians do smoke lots of seafood, so attending a BBQ or going out to eat some can appeal to a lot more people.
Piggy's BBQ on Capital Circle, Tallahassee
Looking forward to trying out this place. Always has been a dearth of good BBQ in town despite the overwhelming love for it among the populace. Hopefully will be able to hit it for lunch this week.
