Looking for ramen with sesame broth - goma ramen?
There used to be a cute ramen shop in the village - it was on 6th or 7th avenue around 10th streeet, where diners could mix and match ramen ingredients, from noodles, to fillings, to broths. One of the broths was a delicious nutty sesame miso ramen.
Recently in Japan, at a plain ol' ramen shop, I had the sesame ramen again, and also tried a black version. Same sesame broth, but the meat was charred before being put in the bowl, and this gave the broth a spotty black appearance.
I work in the East Village, and even with all of the ramen shops here, i've been unable to find a ramen with sesame broth. I've searched the internet extensively. Apparently there's a place called Sapporo in midtown that has it, but I'm looking for something downtown or in Brooklyn.
I think it's also called goma ramen.
Any tips? Or recommendations for a similar ramen?
