Dinner recommendations near NC Museum of Art Raleigh

The response is too late for your trip, but if you return ..... consider Bistro 618. It is just off the 440 beltline on Lake Boone Trail. The food is great.

Best Sandwich in the Triangle?

Sunflowers (Peace St) in Raleigh. They started on Glenwood South before it boomed and are now serving the same great sandwiches near Seaboard.

While at Seaboard, consider Tookies for chicken salad if you like Southern style on soft bread. I'm Southern but like dense breads -- this is a "take you back to your roots" kinda place.

10 Best Southern Hotdogs?

Jones' Hot Dogs on Main St in Clayton NC (15 miles east of Raleigh). I went in the early 60s as a teen and it still serves great dogs with chili.

Splitting an entrée: Frugal or cheap?

Agree with many others. It is not about money. It is about health. I'm in my 60s and at this age we certainly do not need the portions that most (even high-end) restaurants serve. The problem is that you feel 'guilty' when splitting because it is viewed as being cheap. This misconception is captured in the title -- let's rename it to Splitting an entree: overweight or good health?

Fresh Fried Fishy Fun

Great suggestions for my visit to SF. If you make it to North Carolina, try Mez in Research Triangle Park (RTP). I had their fish tacos last week and they were yummy. We always go to Dos Taquitos in Raleigh for our Mexican food where they have great fish tacos and other wonderful food. A real feel of Mexico there.

Wilted Greens with Balsamic Fried Eggs

Made this after seeing it listed in Quick Meals. Good and easy. I used mustard greens because they were fresh and local (South Carolina). They were a good sub if you like bitter greens (and I do). We had roasted sweet potato as a side -- it was GREAT with it. Will make this again.
