the kosher wedding problem...

Hey all. So our theory and approach to the wedding IS to do it simple! 300 might sound like a lot to some, but we're cutting back: on the flowers(silk), a family friend is doing the music for a huge discount, were skimping on the alcohol, trying to go with a buffet, and i think the photographer is a decent deal.
Why 300?? because all these people are people I want to join in my simcha!! If we were goind overboard on the other things, like real fresh flowers for the centerpeices, decoration, etc, it would mean less people to be invited...

the kosher wedding problem...

Hey everyone..It's back to tackling the wedding issue! It seems as though wherever I look, it's nearly impossible to keep the cost of a hall and glatt kosher food at 15000. 20K seems to be the limit, and with the other costs involved (photographer, flowers, Band, dresses...etc), the cost is even more! A wedding should be a fun and memorable experience, but I would like to have money left afterward!! Our parents are very interested in helping out, but I don't want to drain their savings either.
On the other hand, I (like most brides, I imagine) want certain elements in my wedding to make it special, and not cookie cutter. An outdoor aspect to the hall, like with gardens, by the way, is hard to find.
Is it possible to have a wedding with glatt kosher food for no more than 40-50$ a person, with approx 300 people?? Please help!
