Churros To-Go

Anyone know where I can buy churros "to-go" for a party?

I bought a box once in San Francisco that you could bake in the oven, then roll in the cinnamon/sugar topping. Where can I find this in Boston??

Thanks in advance!

Food Recs For St. Lucia

I highly recommend Treehouse. The food at Anse Chastenet is delicious. You can also arrange a private torch lit dinner on the beach. This was one of the highlights of my trip.

Authentic Spanish restaurants in the Boston Area?

I recommend Dali is Somerville. I used to live in Madrid, and this is one of the few places in Boston that makes the cut for me. Dali offers an extensive selection of authentic hot and cold tapas. The dessert menu even includes a few Spanish postres I've never seen here in the states. If your father-in-law made it to Santiago de Compostela on his trip, he'll appreciate the Tarta de Santiago, a delicious almond cake.

In need of Back Bay Restaurant Advice

I second La Voile, but also recommend walking yourself a few blocks over to the South End. Try Toro (Spanish tapas), Coppa, Franklin Cafe, Myers & Chang or Union. There really aren't many options in Back Bay proper...

La Voile

Restaurants in Lima?

La Gloria!! If you must choose, definitely La Gloria. Can't be missed.

Hungry birthday girl seeks tasty carrot cake

I'm not a big fan of birthdays, but I sure am a fan of great cake. My birthday is just around the corner, and I'm on the hunt for the best carrot cake in Boston- all recommendations welcome! The raisinless, walnut-laced, thickly frosted variety is my favorite. Where should I go to celebrate?!

Restaurants in Lima?

I used to work in Lima and now I go once a year TO EAT!

Here are a few of my favorites:

LUNCH/LIGHT DINNER
Arugula (Calle San Fernando, 320 Miraflores) Great for salads & light lunches.

T'anta Various Locations Av. Prolongacion Primavera 692 (Surco), Pancho Fierro 117 (San Isidro), also @ the corner or Vasco Nunez de Balboa and 28 de Julio (Miraflores) Perfect spot for lunch. They also have a great bakery and delicious small grocer in most of the restaurants.

Al Fresco (Malecon Balta, 790 Miraflores)

La Canta Rana in Barranco: must go for ceviche and great seafood! Hole in the wall.

DINNER
La Gloria (Atahualpa, 201 Miraflores) Impeccable. Hands down my favorite restaurant in Lima. Have a pisco sour or a glass of champagne in their charming little bar before dinner.

Raphael (Calle San Martin, 300 Miraflores) Also delicious. V. modern. Good bar scene on the weekends too.

Calla is beautiful if you're looking for a view of the water. I think the food is overrated at touristy La Rosa Nautica.

La Bodega de La Trattoria has delicious food at two locations if you're in the mood for Italian. One is next to the Huaca Pullana and the other is on Vasco Nunez de Balboa (Dal Macia is right there for lunch too).

So many good things to eat in Lima!! And the ice cream....cuatro D is awesome. Have fun!

What are your favorite Back Bay drinking establishments?

Try Alibi or Clink in the Liberty Hotel after Scampo. The Beehive can also be good later at night. From there, I'd recommend the Franklin Cafe. For Saturday, I'd recommend dinner at Toro then drinks at Stella or dinner at Sportello and drinks at Drink. There aren't great places to dance in Boston, but you can always try Rumor or Saint.

Best coffee in Harvard or Central

Try Crema cafe on Brattle St. in Harvard Square for delicious coffee (George Howell and Terroir). They have a pastry chef who bakes everything onsite in the morning. http://cremacambridge.com/

Private dining rooms in the North End

Thanks for the suggestion. I'll check out Taranta.

Private dining rooms in the North End

I'm looking for a private dining room in the North End where I can host a bachelor/bachelorette party. Entrees in the $20 range. The group will be approx. 15-20. Looking for delicious food and great ambience (this won't be a rowdy group). I heard Mamma Maria's has a private room- any other ideas?
