What are your favourite omelette fillings?

I was in upstate New York this weekend and made a great omelete using farm fresh eggs, sharp cheddar, and fresh pesto drizzles over top. Probably the best omelete I have ever made.

Long Horns VS UCLA Game

Hello All,

10 of me and my friends are flying down from NYC to see the game vs UCLA. We will be staying near the downtown area with no car and want to try out some serious texas BBQ. Any suggestion for something in walking distance or a short cab ride? We will be in town from Sept 24-26 and we are all in our late 20's. Thanks in advance.

Starter cookwear set

Everything is for a basic home kitchen. Thanks for all the suggestions. I already have a lodge 12" cast iron which I use a lot since it is my only piece of good cookware. Now I'm looking to expand so I can cook more and expand my techniques. Thank you for all your input.

If you want to go a little south I'm pretty sure there is a sushi samba down a few blocks. It's only a stop or two away on the Lex line. I'm in my mid 20's also. What kinda scene are you looking for and how far would you travel?

Quinoa in a rice cooker?

Is it possible to cook quinoa in a rice cooker. For some reason everytime I cook it on the stove top it comes out mushy not light and fluffy. I'm looking to make a large amount so I can make cold salads during the week out of it?

Good places to live in Brooklyn based on food/bevs?

I'm 26 and single and live in Bay Ridge....Food has many different options and it is a nice young AFFORDABLE neighborhood. Commute is not terrible it takes me about 45 minutes to an hour to get to work in midtown. Williamsburg is very hippyish alothough the food is fantastic. Bay Ridge is fantastic in my opinion for options and price both food wise and living wise.

New to Charcoal BBQ HEEELLLPPP!

Been grilling with gas my whole life (I'm only 26 so forgive me for my sins). I've reading a fellow chowhound's blog and reading a lot about Adam Perry Lang and really want to start grill and smoking with charcoal. Can somone please help with the purchase of a good beginners charcoal grill where I can start learning to grill and smoke on. As I said before I'm 26 and not trying to break the bank. Thanks in advance to anyone that can help.

Pork Shoulder or Pork Butt????

Get confused with the two different cuts. I love slow cooked pulled pork but my grocery store only sells bone in pork shoulder with the skin (Which I love crispy and crunchy). I want to make pulled pork this weekend or perniel ( Not really sure if that is how you spell it but im talking about the slow cooked pork you can get at Puerto Rican and other types of restaurants. Can anyone explain the difference and then does it matter if the bone is in? Any cooking ideas and recipes on how I can do this. I have a slow cooker and roasting pan so either method is good for me. Thanks in advance.
