toronto boy visting montreal for a week: feedback on itinerary would be great!

Lemeac will probably in the low 30s without desert, but it is really good. Forget Boustan if you don't want fast food, since you are already going at petit Alep, which is amazing.

I prefer fairmount to st-viateur, and the ice cream shop next 2 fairmount is really, really good.

Have an amazing trip!

GOOD ramen place in Montreal?

Someone tried the sushi at yang's in chinatown?

Best Cocktail Bars and Liquor stores in Hull area?

I second les Brasseurs du Temps, they serve the best homebrews I had in the Ottawa-Gatineau Metropolitan area.

If you are in Ottawa, you may try le Chateau Laurier? Even if it's a posh Hotel, Iv'e heard from my supervisor that they have interesting cocktails.

EDIT: note that this will probably cost you an arm to get a drink there.

Hong Kong breakfast

From what I understood, it had a staff change during the period of the last year. I had their dimsum once or twice at the hours prescribed by wattacetti, quite decent by montreal standard, but I also went to a dinner on a weeknight, it was quite average at best. So you 2 are probably right.

New Yorker seeks BEST EATS in Montreal for friend's birthday

I do think that croissanterie figaro serves eggs.

I may be wrong, but it was showcasted on Canal evasion during night time, and they had breakfeast there.

After asking around, there's a few rumors going, but no one really knows.

top 10 food to eat in Québec (the province)...

Sharwama Palace and Sharwarma castle are my 2 favourites.

top 10 food to eat in Québec (the province)...

Yeah I know, but what I meant that any city with less then 1.5k inhabitant is still technically a city by Quebec's law. I was quite tired at the time and just realized that this argument doesn't make any sense.

haha sorry

Weird ; is it legal ?

yes they are totally legal if frozen.

Usually in a soup/stew.

Well legally speaking, there is no distinction between town and cities by Quebec, both are represented by the term ville, in constrast with aglomeration rurale and village authotone for example. So small rural agglomeration in English speaking Canada could still be named as cities in Quebec, maybe the confusion comes from there?

Restaurant Openings in 2011

I've heard rumors that It could have been bought by a family that operates AYCE sushi.

Pandan leaves, malaysian (dark) palm sugar and egg white powdered

maybe you should check at marchee Hawaii?

Keung Kee

It could be, I'll ask around to see if I can find something.

Saigon Palace has a great broth.

You should try Callia, its owned by the same group of people that owns KK. I prefer their buns to harmonie for being a little bit less sweet.

Restaurant Openings in 2011

sushi 5 saison just reopened, as good as ever.

Favourites in Little India (a.k.a southern parc-ex)

Looks like general taoish sized chicken, sauce looks like general tao flashy red, but a little darker in colour, the main flavour that comes out of it is an earthy flavour, i personally think it could be curry leaves. There's a lot of chili in it, so it packs a heat.

Yang's sushi in Chinatown is finally open.

Trip to Toronto: need a few clarification.

Hi everyone, me and my Gf are planning to visit my grandparents in Toronto. I need some clarification on some of my choices. I'll be staying at my grandparents place 10 minutes away from Dundas Square.

Saturday:
10-11 AM: arrival, any good coffee shop near Dundas square?
12h: undecided? Dimsum in downtown? Crown princess? is LWH still any good?
6 PM: Beast 5-7 (do i need any reservations?).
Late night drink: any neat drinking place for cocktails?
Late night snack: anything special at 2AM in Toronto?

Sunday:
Breakfast and lunch: Grandpa’s choice.
6 PM: Sushi with a bunch of friends in Markham.
late night: maybe a few wok hei based dishes?

Monday:
Breakfast and lunch: open to all suggestions, preferably Chinese, I was thinking on a HK style Cafe and a few Buns for the road=).

Also, I've heard that Guu is really good, should I have a snack over there at 9h30 Pm?

Best Dim Sum recommendation in Chinatown, Montreal

Foo Lam has become the new family favourite in town.

Uncle also like the one that is in the strip mall right next to the Kim Fat of the south shore. (I think its called Jing Hua)

Kam Fung and Ruby rouge will probably be the top recommendation around here (for a good reason, they are ok/decent, and also it is consistent), but I had some surprisingly decent dim sum at tong sing, just as Ghostquatre recommended.

Rotisserie Laurier

The chef from Bistro Olivieri, the small bistro/library next to UDM, will head the kitchen of Laurier BBQ.
