Help! Birthday dinner for 40-something crowd that still likes to party
Thanks for all your help. I'll definitely report back.
Help! Birthday dinner for 40-something crowd that still likes to party
There will be eight of us for this Friday. The Beer Bistro is a great place, I hadn't thought of it.
I think we're definitely leaning towards a steak house but the menu at Beer Bistro looks good, I'll have to talk to the group.
Thanks

I agree! There are definitely different types of pretention.
I've been to Allen's and Globe Bistro a few times, both are pretty good.
Thanks again for your suggestions.

Wow! Thanks so much for all the tips, they're great! I will talk to the others and see what they think.
I'm only a little concerned about the mention of the pretentious crowds. My steak-and-potatoes friends are more pub-goers than club-goers but hopefully I'll be able to sway them. :)
Help! Birthday dinner for 40-something crowd that still likes to party
Hi all,
I'm planning a 40th birthday party for a friend and I'm hoping to find a place that serves good food but also turns into a bar/lounge-type place later in the evening or has great night spot nearby. In terms of cuisine, I'm open to anything but a steak house would be preferred by the meat-and-potatoes contingent in our group. :)
We're all in our late 30s-early 40s and we would love to find a place with an older crowd but have no idea where to go anymore. We just know we'd like to venture out of our respective neighbourhoods - Danforth, Beach(es), Yonge & Eglinton.
It doesn't have to be right downtown but central would be helpful since we don't want anyone driving home. I thought King West or College would be good but I've since heard the crowds are pretty young in these areas. Or maybe we're just getting older. :)
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!
