True Neapolitan pizza's are quite austere in regards to the toppings; just a few pinch-fulls of this and that. What happens to any pizza, not just thin crust ones, is when too many ingredients are piled on, making for a soggy bottom. So, while Americans can thank them for piling on more (as we so like it), it's actually ruining the integrity of the dish. |

The Phenomenon of Taking Pictures of Food Taken to Another Level Odd and slightly humorous Tumblr site photo-documenting other people taking pictures of their food. I can't figure out why people wanted to take pictures of some of the items: |

MSP's 18 Most Iconic Sandwiches From the Eater blog comes this list: http://minneapolis.eater.com/archives... I think it's a worthy list, but I was truly surprised by the inclusion of Caffrey's Deli and Subs, which I had never heard about. Anyone try this place, or have any other's to add to the list? |

Andrew Zimmern (of Bizarre Foods) on how to be the "perfect dinner guest" I was able to read it with no problem. |

There's already a thread on Burch: |

Holy Land on Central has them; don't know if the one in MGM has too. |

Kramarczuk's Earns James Beard Award No, you need to go to their store: |

Mar'13 MSP Dish of the Month - Fish Fry! Post reports here I wouldn't call a dozen posts as being "talked to death". They were only referencing a few restaurants and several newspaper articles. The purpose of this thread is personal reviews of as much of a cross section as possible; restaurants, churches, and VFW Halls. |

Do you mean a restaurant or a factory? Corn or flour? La Perla at Lake and Bloomington in Mpls is a factory that makes their corn and flour tortillas daily, and many restaurants make their own - Los Ocampo at Lake and Chicago makes excellent flour ones you can also take home. |

Christine Teigen Show on Cooking Channel I didn't have that reaction to the show. Once I got past how beautiful she is and that she's marrying John Legend, I was taken by her relaxed style and thoughtful commentary. To each their own. |

Guy Fieri's Times Square restaurant Domain name Used; menu 'changed' His Domain name wasn't "stolen", it was hacked. So what? Trying to be a hater baiter? He is who he is, and if you don't care for him or his food, just ignore him. |

Milano Market, Forest Whitaker, and Yelp Just saw this article on Forest Whitaker being patted down at Milano Market in Manhattan, and I couldn't help it, but the first thing I thought of was how many people had trashed the place on Yelp, which has happened several times recently for other places: http://www.yelp.com/biz/milano-market... I have never been to this place, but find it hard to understand why everyone there should be labeled a racist because of one employee's misdeeds, and then for people to jump on Yelp to try to "bring the place down." |

Feb'13 Dish of the Month - Eggs Benedict Had the EB at Day by Day last weekend; wanted to go to the Happy Gnome but they were closed for an employee party (drat!). Actually had the florentine, which was a nice change. Nothing standout; very basic. |

The link doesn't seem to work. What was the link to? |

Feb'13 Dish of the Month - Eggs Benedict I've had the problem of untoasted / undertoasted muffins at both Longfellow Grill and the Uptowner. Strange. I adore the EB at Blackbird; perfectly cooked eggs, and a fabulously rich hollandaise - they can be a bit skimpy sometimes, but are always happy to bring a bit more if asked. |

Eating places: South Minneapolis vs. Como Park/Roseville I've lived in So Mpls for 15 years now, and am really pleased with proximity to a wide variety of restaurants, or at least an easy drive times to other areas. I'm curious where you lived that you weren't happy with. I'm in Standish/Erickson, and within the last week both Parka and the new Blue Door Pub opened within a 7 minute drive time. Is your criteria that most places should be kid-friendly? Are your kids open minded as to what they eat (i.e., ethnic)? |

I really dislike all jarred sauces except Giada De Lauentis'- great fresh, tangy flavor. The only place I've seen it (in MN) is at Target. |

Has anyone tried it yet? It sounds kinda interesting, you know, for a BK product. |

I've only been once for brunch, and man, I loved it. Shrimp and grits. I wish I could find that for breakfast more often, as I'm not much of an egg lover. That said, I remember that not much else teased me on the menu. And the coffee - good, but way too strong. |

catering recommendation for Mpls/St. Paul? I don't think it's been mentioned yet, but when are you having said party? I'm assuming it won't be until the warmer months. |

Authentic Ramen Noodles. Which are best: dried or frozen? ChancesR; I've only seen the fresh noodles at UN - were are the frozen located? |

Pham's Wondrous Asian Kitchen Closed I'm so conflicted; he has such grand visions but can't seem to be able to make his restaurants work, for reasons ranging from poor management, over-extension, to lackluster menus. |

Sandra Lee's Taverns, Lounges & Clubs Looks like it's playing on Wednesday's at 10:30 pm Eastern time. |

The Top 5 Things Restaurants Should Never Serve Again Wonderfully written, funny article; the Truffle Oil line is great, though I do kind of like lobster in Mac and Cheese occasionally. |

Putting aside the fact that these people seemed to have made some bad financial decisions, Popcorn Lung is indeed a disease. What is your difficulty with this court judgement? |

Haven't been there, but Jeremy Iggers reviewed it recently and loved it. They only have a Facebook page, no website (that I can find.) Noticed that they have an all you can eat special today for $9.99. Great deal if the food is really good... |

Rincon 38 - though they were supposed to open in the spring; hopefully it's still happening. |
