North/Mid Westchester recs for Pan Asian restaurant?
Personally I think Lucky Buddha is overrated and the noise level coming out of the hibachi side of the restaurant can be a real turn off (lots of birthdays and celebrations going on). Service tends to be sluggish as well. The foods not bad but there are better.
Promising lunch at Charchaels
This place is great. Have never understood why it is so under the radar. Great Burgers and Dogs all freshly prepared with great toppings. They are an offshot of the truck on Rt. 100. Also great ice cream treats. Worth a visit
Tra Di Noi on 187th St. best in the Arthur Avenue area
This restaurant is the little engine that could of Arthur Avenue (although it's on 187th st.). As good if not better, in my opinion, then Roberto's (which is a great place too) the food is always fresh (be prepared for them to run out of the specials on the blackboard) cause the chef shops the neighborhood every day for his menu. He only buys so much so at busy times things can run out. Marco has a masterful light touch (believe me when you rave about the salads something is going on). The blackboard specials are always special but the small printed menu is great too. I've probably taken 15 people or so there over the last two years and so far they've all been home runs.
The reason I say they're like the little engine that could is cause they are the best restaurant in the area, and one of the best in the city but they don't get the respect and the reviews.
Have been there at least 25 times in the last two years and not had a bad course let alone bad meal. Prices are reasonable for a restaurant of this calibre (by the way it's Michelin rated which is rare). I almost hate to share it but if your reading this board you deserve it. And best of all (well after the amazing food) is unlike Roberto's they take reservations.

Steak recs in Westchester
I grew up around the corner from Peter Lugers in Great Neck and went there all through my growing up years and have been to the Brooklyn location many times. In the 80's I lived 4 blocks from the Palm and used to go to Palm (the original) and Palm II frequently. Last year I moved up to Westchester and since then have been to Flames a number of times and I would have to say it is the equal of either Palm or Peter Luger. You don't have to got to NYC or Nassau county to get a good steak. Take that for what it's worth cause it's all personal anyway. I refuse to go to Ruth Chris for anything cause they deserted the city of New Orleans within five days of Karina and moved their HQ from Metarie to Orlando.
Q in Mt Kisco closed (as is the Guatemalen Chapines Deli?)

Squires Briarcliff--Overrated Burgers in a Cavelike Atmosphere
Got there before the rush on friday. Burger couldn't have been better and the waitress was nice as could be and real helpful. It can get crowded but I've yet to have a bad burger or a bad service experience. And this thread just keeps making me want to go back and have another burger, mmmmm
Looking for a good, sort of cheap restaurant for a friends birthday get together in Westchester(White Plains)
La Manda on Rt 119 in White Plains. Not fancy but great red sauce style Italian and very good pizza as well. Pretty reasonably priced with large portions. I'm pretty sure it's cash only.

Frank Pepe Open
Went there last night and it was jamming (at around 6:30pm). The clam pie was excellent the cheese w moz, was good not unbelievable. I would wait a bit before going as the staff although very nice were not ready for the rush and were a bit overwhelmed. Had to wait about an hour for the pizza to arrive, although it was hot when brought to the table. As we were leaving at 8pm there were only a few people waiting to get in and the dining room was thinning out so maybe a little later arrival would help the service experience now. All in all not disappointed and will definitely return.
BRIARCLIFF AREA RESTAURANTS?
ok i admit to a dooooh moment, I guess I read the post fast and had half an eye on the World Series and failed to notice the mention of a B-Day so maybe Paese isn't such a good choice (but the food is still great). Try Zeph's in Peekskill if it's not to far away. you can all stop snickering now, LOL

BRIARCLIFF AREA RESTAURANTS?
try Paese Pizza in the town of Briarcliff. Ostensibly just a pizza place but so much more. The daily specials are killer as well as most of the regular menu. As for the pizza I don't think I've ever had it cause the real food is so unbelievable. Don't let the decor throw you it might not look fancy but the food is as good as many far showier joints in Westchester and the NYC
Is "Flames" Steak house worth it?
absolutely, excellent steaks served in the luger style. also superior wine cellar. it ain't cheap but neither are any of the steak joints that flames emulates. well worth it and i've eaten at em all.
