cajun spice

i can't seem to find the Cajun spice "File'" anywhere. Not a blend just straight File (ground sassafras leaves). Any ideas? Gumbo just isn't gumbo without it!

glass jars for the freezer?

i have used mason jars in the freezer usually with no problem. Occasionally upon thawing they will crack, not sure why. Love to freeze home made soup this way. I have thawed them in the microwave on the defrost level, again with no problem, but i let the jar rest for a few minutes between zaps until it is thawed enough to pour the contents out.

vacuum sealing fresh herbs

can you vacuum seal fresh herbs and if so how long will they last? Also can you then freeze it and how will that last? If the freezing method is successful upon opening does the herb (like rosemary for example look and taste like fresh?
