Tucson, AZ Recommendations?
I guess the above are accurate but I think some of those are kind of pricey. I do like El Charro downtown but not sure how they will change after their merger with another company. El Corral is no-frills prime rib. I've heard it's not what it used to be but I always have a great, inexpensive meal there. Just about any Mexican restaurant on the Southside will get you a tasty, authentic meal. Zin Burger is Tucson based and I've heard quite good but I haven't been yet.
Favorite Italian / Pizza places In Tucson.
Fiorito's on Grant used to be above average. Not sure if there is still a Scordato's around but that was good food. Still disappointed they close Da Vinci's on Ft. Lowell. Sauce has good pizza but it is different. Magpie's has very good pie too. I have to second the comments on Caruso's (good but 4th Ave has a earthy vibe to it) but I never thought Mamma Louisa's was all that.
Corpus Christi
I see our replies are some 6+ years after the original post so maybe this will just develop into our faves of CC! I have to second the Green Papaya: only been there once but will definitely go back. My family likes the El Playas for seafood and stuffed avocados. We ate at Aladdin's a couple of weeks ago and the gyros and shawarmas were surprisingly good. Maggies has excellent pizza. Wallbangers has a tasty burger (I haven't tried Snapkas yet). I'm sure there are more that I'm not thinking of but all-in-all, there are some decent restaurants in this city that seems to live and die by the buffet.
AYCE Sushi in Vegas?
Hi, we are headed to Las Vegas this weekend and are looking for an all-you-can-eat sushi restaurant. We would much prefer to eat at one that is "to-order" as opposed to buffet-style. I had a local friend recommend Sushi on Tropicana but I have read conflicting reviews (e.g. they enforce a time limit?). We are staying on the East end of town but can travel anywhere reasonable. I did read some of the other similar posts but some of the comments are a couple of years old. Any thoughts on AYCE sushi in the "to-order" style? Thanks!!!
Fresh tortillas in Las Vegas?
One of my favorite Mexican restaurants is in Vegas: Lindo Michoacan on Desert Inn. They used to make their tortillas fresh right there and sure that they would sell them to go. I recommend eating here as well. The claim to use authentic recipes from deep down in Mexico and get away from the taco/burrito fare that most Americans call Mexican food. They had a sister restaurant in town too but I didn't find it quite as good.
