Thanks everyone. It came down to 3 completely different places - L2O, Sepia & North Pond. (Unfortunately Ms Chow's correct and Avenues isn't open on Sunday). I loved the look of L2O, but as we are having a few other big meals on our trip - Primehouse, Mado for dinners, also a couple of as yet not figured out places for lunchs and brunchs, I thought another big meal might be too much. So I've decided on Sepia - I'll let you know how it is.
While in Chicago, our real foodie friends are also flying in, so we want to meet up with them for lunch and / or brunch over our long weekend there. Any ideas on lunch places on Friday and Saturday and Sunday brunches would be great.
So far we're looking at possibly Frontera Grill and the James' sunday dim sum for brunches.
Ideas so far for lunches are Topolobampo, Blackbird, North Pond.
It would also be great to know if there are any really good farmers markets that are open on a Saturday morning, as we've found in the past that it's a great place to grab a bite and try out local produce (although as it will be the end of September, not sure how feasible this idea is - I know up here in Toronto some of our farmers markets are coming to the end of the season and winding down a bit)
We're happy to take transit or a cab to places.
Thanks again

Thanks everyone. I really like the look of Eve, Cafe de Architectes & Boka. Some colleagues of a friend have thrown some other restaurants into the mix, and I would love to hear what people think of them. They are: Sepia, Spiaggia & Les Nomades.
I've also heard mixed reviews for Everest & L2O and would love to get peoples oppinions on those.
I would also love to hear if there is a "typical" Chicago activity to do - other than an Architecture tour. We'll probably do either the boat tour or maybe a walking tour - as yet we're undecided. I went on a walking tour on my first trip to N. America with my family (& my only trip to Chicago) in '96, and it was pretty amazing.
Thank you.
Help - Romantic restaurant needed
I'm coming to Chicago in a few weeks time for a long weekend with my husband.
It's my husbands birthday on the Sunday night, and I would love to take him out to a really nice romantic restaurant, but a lot of places appear to be closed. We are staying on the Magnificent Mile, and are happy to walk a distance or take a cab.
Please will people give me suggestions for romantic restaurants with wide price and cuisine ranges.
Thank you!
