I'm going to my father's house for thanksgiving, and I want to make sure we get a good bird. Anybody know of the best place to get something that's better than a butterball? I like in San Francisco, he lives in Vacavile, so anywhere close to those places is doable.

Seriously, try the Basboussa/Harissa dessert here. It's in a pan at the front and doesn't look very special, but it IS.

Chicken wrap at Darbar on polk street. 6 bucks. Sounds corny, and maybe it is, but it is seriously the tastiest thing on the block.
Two fish tacos at El Metate on Bryant and 22nd. Awesome fried fish tacos. Everything else is good too, but really it's about the fish tacos.
Anything at Tu Lan on 6th street (watch yourself). I usually say get the #74 (bean curd and mixed veggies over crispy noodles) and an iced coffee. You're still at ten bucks INCLUDING tip.

I haven't tried it personally, but some of my friends say it's really good. Also 9 bucks for 12 ounces, I believe.
