All my favorites are closed and we want to take our out of town guest out for a "fancy" dinner. It''s the only night we have free for a nice family dinner out. We'd like to keep it local since it's a school night.

Seedlings Cafe is still good. It's a great lunch spot - except I don't usually bring my daughter their because they charge an arm and a leg for a peanut butter and jelly sandwich which is pretty much all she eats on the menu - I love their tofu sandwich. New owners are doing a good job keeping with the original ethos of the place after a slightly rocky start.
Peddlar's Daughter is not my favorite place in nashua - it's basic pub food. I do love their sweet potato fries and homemade ketchup. Not totally kid friendly but it is nice to eat outside if the weather permits it but since you don't drink the beer selection is a number one reason for stopping there so it's probably not a great stop for you.
I like Thousand Crane. I think they do a better job with their Sushi items than their chinese foods. I love Meena's. It's real homemade indian food tends to be a little on the spicy side so our daughter does some tasting and is learning to enjoy spicy foods but it's still a little much for her.
Tacos Colima is worth a stop. They are an authentic mexican restaurant.
Michael Timothy's is a terrific place to stop and I am sure your daughter would enjoy it. No kids menu but my child always finds something to eat. Check out the menu online.

Burning Tree just outside of Bar Harbor in Otter Creek is wonderful. They use veggies from their gardens around the restaurant and their menu is eclectic and lots of fun. Perfect if you are looking to move beyond lobster and clam chowder. We also ate at Trenton Bridge Lobster Pound; it was OK. On the way home we stopped at Larson's Lunch Box in Damariscotta was a fun stop with yummy stuffed lobster rolls.
If you are looking for picnic food then stop in the Pine Tree Market in Northeast Harbor. They have a great selection of cheese, breads, salads etc. Full Belli Deli in Northeast Harbor makes a great pizza. Cafe This Way in Bar Harbor for breakfast or dinner. Check out Southwest Harbor also. There is a great wine and cheese store there. Have Fun.

Follow up: We ended up at Amigos (because it's close to the Y). Probably will not eat there again. Not the greatest mexican food. Seasoning was bland and it was just all around not that great. The staff was really nice so I'd probably go back for drinks in the downstairs bar.
Since it's another rainy night Friday night and once again I don't feel like cooing I think we'll try Shira Kiku. Thanks for al the replies. Next Friday (if it's raining) we'll try Cedar's Cafe.
And we love Meena's. By far the best of the best Indian and vegetarian food around.

It's friday and I am not in the mood to prepare a fabulous meal for my family and ordering pizza or chinese isn't going to work either.

Thai Garden located right on main street is wonderful. The staff is friendly and the food is fresh and delicious. We always stop here when we pass through Keene.

We are looking for a restaurant that cooks the perfect rack lamb or at least tries their very best to cook the perfect rack of lamb. It's my husbands birthday and while he is happy to eat the tofu and tempeh dishes I prepare I would love to be able to treat him to a delicious dinner out. We will drive any where in NE for a good meal so any suggestions would be appreciated.

Huge fan of chauncey creek. The food is good but the preparation for going there is half the fun and once there is just a beautiful spot to sit out and enjoy the company of friends and family. The checklist: table cloth, cloth napkins, candles, lighter, vase with flowers, wine, beer, opener, hummus, pita bread, dessert. And a fancy picnic basket to pack your goodies in is a must. Yes we are those people. And we love it. If I could get my dinner companions to go for it we'd be wearing silly hats and flower garlands. And if you can time your meal to be ending just at sunset the view is lovely but as soon as the sunsets - leave or the bugs will carry you away.

I been twice and I love it. The food was fresh, tasted like we had been invited to their home to share a home cooked meal. Considered never cooking again and taking all my meals there.
