Singapore - Roti Prata at Casuarina I find the Casuarina people have a bit of attitude when serving customers during busy periods on weekends. But I like the fact that they have not changed their banner after more than 25 years now: |

Singapore - The Legendary Jalan Kayu Roti Prata from Thasevi debbieann, many of us in Singapore have our own favourite prata man in our own neighbourhood. Thasevi's prata is good and they are the ones who "invented" the small crispy prata, which may not be the best-tasting prata you ever had, but worth a journey there to experience where it all began. I live near the Tanglin area, and my favourite prata place is either the one at Botanic Gardens food centre in Cluny Road or else Mr Prata at Evans Road. |

Singapore - Old-World Hainanese steaks from The Ship It's the poor carpark design at Nex. I go there for all kinds of laksa at Laksania - great variety. |
Singapore - Weekend brunch options at Spruce, Bukit Timah Old Fire Station Hotcakes! Sounds like my kind of place. It's a bit out of the way for me though. Are the eggs good? |
Singapore - Best chicken ramen at Tsukada Nojo, Plaza Singapura It's very rich and not for people who may abhor strong chickeny flavour or taste. I like the cheese-topped nikumaki onigiri. |
Singapore - Weekend brunch options at Café & Bar Gavroche I'm not aware that Brasserie Gavroche opens for breakfast now. Oh wait, it has a sister restaurant across the street? Must check it out. Thanks for the tip! |

Singapore - Restaurant Andre, Truly One of the World's Best Restaurants Most top places in Singapore will charge top dollar for New Year's Eve and New Year's Day meals. |

Penang - Hakka "Yong Tau Foo" at Padang Brown (Update) WOWW!! I'm currently in Penang on holiday and was at this stall yesterday evening after reading klyeoh's post. I had never ever tasted anything like this for a long, long time!Penang yong tau foo have a very tasty broth, almost like the type we have in Singapore back in the good old days when our hawkers were selling in the streets. I already forgot how good yong tau foo soup tasted like until yesterday. I'm going back again today before I leave for the airport. |

NYTimes article about Violet Oon's restaurant Sounds good. I'll have to check this out. Btw, the NY Times article mentioned that Violet's daughter is Tan Su-Lyn, is she married to food blogger Chubby Hubby (Aun Koh)? They are very good in restaurant concepts, etc right? |

Singapore - Colombian street food at La Barra Glad that you finally went there? ;) |
Singapore - Latin American options at Sur Nuevo Latino This place is like the most in-thing at the moment. I asked the chef what's leche de tigra or tiger's milk the last time I was there. I thought there was milk :) |

New addition to Hong Kong dining scene - L'Altro, a solid Michelin 1* Italian Restaurant Charles Yu, are you double-posting all your entries on HK's dining scene? You did the same for Otto e Mezzo and also Ming Court entries. |

Most AUTHENTIC Thai food in Montreal Sorry, Fintastic, equating Singapore = Thai food is like me advising a fellow Singaporean here to equate French = English food. |

Singapore suggestions near Bras Basah Hi debbieann, you should walk down to Seah Street or Purvis Street near Raffles Hotel where there are many small local restaurants. That area is well-known for food compared to Bras Basah which is too near Singapore Management University and resulting in a lot of casual cafes for students. You should try Yet Con chicken rice or Chin Chin for other Hainanese food. You should also try Yingthai for Thai food. |
Singapore - Colombian street food at La Barra Hi klyeoh, you should go and try Sur Nuevo Latino on North Canal Road. The Venezuelan food there is tastier than Colombian at La Barra, IMHO. The chef Alejandro Luna is half-Peruvian/half-Venezuelan, and his Peruvian culinary inventiveness really shows through. I always regarded Peruvian cuisine in Latin America as the equivalent of French cuisine in Europe. |
Singapore - Thai-style "Yee Sang" at Thanying I like Thanying too but their prices have always been a bit high. Of course they use high quality ingredients compared to other Thai restaurants. My favourite Thai restaurant is Yingthai along Purvis Street. |
Singapore - Fab Pasta with Bottarga at Cugini Aaa, one of my favourite places for Italian spaghetti and lasagne. |
Singapore - Curry Chicken Noodles at Ah Heng, Market Street Is this related to Ah Heng at Hong Lim hawker ctr? |
Singapore - Malay Fine Dining at Mamanda, Sultan Gate Is it expensive? Many fine dining Malay restaurants have come and gone in Singapore before like Aziza's, Sukmaindra and Tepak Sireh. |
Singapore - Tapas lunch at Los Primos Taberna y Tapas Bar I've not tried this place yet, but I hear it's owned by the 2 Italian cousins who own the better known Cugini Italian restaurant 2 shoplots away on Club Street. Apparently, the 2 cousins lived in Valencia for 5 years so they put their expertise in Spanish food to good use here. |

Singapore - Nyonya Sunday Lunch at Kim Choo Kueh Chang, Katong Try Betel Box Bistro on Joo Chiat Road, the food is quite authentic and the chef is Melaka-born http://www.betelbox.com/bistro/ |
Singapore - Mee Siam @ Chinta Manis Peranakan Cafe Another good place is Subway Niche. Have you tried Betel Box Bistro on Joo Chiat Road for nyonya food? It's my current favourite http://www.betelbox.com/bistro/ |

Penang – Char Koay Teow at Siam Road This is the stall featured on AFC Food Surprise programme by K.F. Seetoh right? Is the wait worth it or not? |

Singapore: Jamie's Italian opening in summer of 2013 In Singapore, we import everything anyway:- vegetables from Malaysia & China, ducks from Canada, pigs from Australia & Indonesia, beef from USA, fish from everywhere, even waiters from Philippines. I wonder if Jamie Oliver himself will be here for the launching, I don't even remember him ever even stepping onto Singapore soil before. |

Singapore: Jamie's Italian opening in summer of 2013 Can hardly wait! Jamie's Italian opening at Vivocity next July 2013:- |

Singapore - Dim sum options at Old Hong Kong Taste Another Old HK group restaurant? Now, Singapore has several competing chains:- Paradise Group, Crystal Jade Group, Imperial Treaure Group, Tung Lok Group, etc. |
Singapore - Dinner at Ola Cocina del Mar, Marina Bay Financial Centre The roast pig trotter is their speciality, slow-cooked sous vide then roasted over high heat when you order. It's good. Daniel's Peruvian while Pepe is from Barcelona, and their cooking style is a good combination of traditionalism and modernistic approach. |

Bangkok - Chinatown Street Eats along Thanon Yaowarat Is Grand China Princess a good hotel to stay if one wants to visit Bangkok? Close to foodplaces in Chinatown? |

Bangkok - A Taste of Pa Thong Ko (Thai Crullers) in Yaowarat klyeoh, are there any good Thai restaurants in Yaowarat Road that you can recommend? |
