Big mistake!

Your point? The cilantro is a fact, and I don't think you will need to taste the results.

And, when you reheat it, the caramelized apples won't char.

Well, the peaches wouldn't wait either.

Serious Toronto Foodies need help with one great lunch and grocery store in Buffalo

The waitresses all wear proper waitress uniforms, and the men who carve/make cocktails/wait have white jackets. The hot boozy cocktail is Tom and Jerry, available in cooler months. There's a special summer cocktail as well.

How do I cook really tender green beans?

Using baking soda with beans is a recurring topic here. Bad idea. It destroys nutrients.

Aldi Vs. Costco

Our Aldi has a couple of local items among the other items. There's a line of sausages that are made in town and Dinosaur Barbecue sauce.

Norwich, NY (Chenango County) or spots en route from NYC?

Next time you're there, tell Becky to,get her act together and develop even a minimal web presence. I had to locate it on a google, map through the previous owner.

What cookbooks have you bought lately, or are you lusting after? August 2015

Perhaps Amazon isn't aware of our cookbook lust. I don't know if I want them to stay ignorant, or open the floodgates.

I'm on the fence about ecookbooks. Some work really well, others not so much. I am a big fan of book books. I have boxes of them in two states to prove it. But it's a lot easier to schlep ebooks from one kitchen to the other and back.

Yes, interested. Maybe if we could get our wits together, it could be a quarterly or semiannual experience.

Best sauce recipe for bland, mealy tomatoes?

Yes, anchovies even if you don't like. Fish sauce is a possible substitute. All of the above suggestions, and tomato paste. Or throw them out and lie like a rug.

Japanese Store Grocery List?

I don't have a clue where you are, but Sun makes ramen noodles with broth packets that are terrific. I was shocked to find them in my local Asian market, so you might be able to find them wherever you are.

You seem to speak from a position of authority. Can you say something more about that? I can see going mad trying to get a check before going to a performance, but returning the next day to deal with it.

What's so difficult about Mashed Potatoes?

Well, a food processor might take beating to an unwelcome extreme.

I think many people on different ends of the food world are uncomfortable with simplicity.
