Can i freeze milk? 1/2 and 1/2? Heavy cream?

Our milkman was near the end of his route when he got to us, and my mother would sometimes mix him a martini while they discussed the woes of the day.

And we could always tell when the cows went out to pasture because the taste of the milk changed.

Pizza making at home

No, I think doing a pizza in a skillet is a challenge. A pizza is basically, unless you're in Chicago, a flatbread. Hoicking it out of a 2" pan provides challenges you wouldn't have with tiles or other oven inserts.
People have been known to use grill pans or outdoor grills to make pizzas.

What type(s) of cuisine are you just not interested in cooking?

I do try to change one Thanksgiving element every year, but oven Tetris really cracked me up. Braised endive, green beans with lemon...

Botulism outbreak linked to Ohio Church potluck

pH needs to be greater then 4.6 for botulism to grow. More acidic, i.e. below 4.6, is safer.

Unsticking stuck dishes

I occasionally find demitasse mugs in pottery shops in the U.S. and make a point of telling the potter how happy I am to find them. (I can't say I've noticed a great increase in abundance with this approach, but what the heck.)

Ideas for vegetarian dinners, please

http://www.maureenabood.com/2015/04/2...

It can also include any protein you wish. I first made it with chicken as a nearly instant dinner before a niece's performance, but nearly anything else in small bits would work.

I'm looking forward, way forward, to this http://eatingasia.typepad.com/eatinga... but I may have to succumb to your suggestion.

Is it ok to eat many eggs?

Generally, the first 10 lbs is water weight based on a change in diet.

For many reasons I have found Japanese food challenging. When I bought the book, there were no Asian markets in my city (well back in the last century). The only tofu available was canned. Yup. Canned. So I would end up buying a bunch of canned ingredients, make whatever dish on the menu, and scratch my head at the leftovers, both canned and prepared. Not attractive.
Recently I bought Harris Salat's books on hot pots and grilling, and now I can find easily the special ingredients required. So, it's full steam ahead.

Should I downsize my bakeware? Things I should add?

Look at the Nordicware site before you buy an ordinary bundt pan. They may have a design that you find particularly desirable. Also check eBay for them.

And you know that whatever you get rid of you will need shortly.

I've gotten the knockoff Silpats at Aldi, and find a large one useful for rolling out doughs.

The editions of Claudia Roden's Middle Eastern books are quite different, both terrific. And thanks for the poke about Japanese Country Cooking. There it was in my very own bookcase. I bought it long ago before Asian stores were common, and never did much with it. The red type on brown paper is (now) a challenge, but it is a beautiful book.

kindle cook books

Generally, IMHO, kindle cookbooks are less successful than ebooks. Kindles, again IMHO, seem to be quickie transfers of printed text to electronic text without a lot of thought to the results. The Cadillac ecookbooks are Mark Bittman's How to Cook Everything and How to Cook Everything Vegetarian which have embedded links and timers as well as a multi window capability that really helps find and use what you want. Ecookbooks such as Charles Phan's Vietnamese Home Cooking include short videos of Vietnam and pictures of called-for ingredients.

I buy both hard copy and ebooks in part to conceal my addiction and in part because I cook in multiple kitchens, often at a great distance.

And a plastic bag is useful to prevent spatters.
