CT: Let's Thai one on--share your Thai favorites!

Does anyone know about Thai Basil in Danielson? Reviews on Yelp are good, better than Thai Place in Putnam, but seem to reference non-Thai dishes, which leaves me suspicious.

bone broth not getting gelatinous

Coffee gelatin is a well-known New England dessert, sweetened and served with a blob of whipped cream on the top.

Scenic Drive from NYC to Boston..

44 between Providence and Plymouth is hardly scenic unless you like big box stores.

Replacement Blade For Cuisinart Food Processor?

I've had my CFP-5 blade sharpened a couple of times since acquiring it many years ago. EBay has a lot of food processors listed and I've found some spare parts there.

What cookbooks have you bought lately, or are you lusting after? September 2014 edition!

Hot Sour Salty Sweet and their other gigantic cookbooks are, IMHO, better as kindle or (?) ePub formats. They aren't pretty, which the print versions are, but you can cook from them.

What is this?

Banana flowers, I think.

Nightshades, soy, citrus allergies that manifest as skin rash

Also I don't think gooseberries are nightshades. That doesn't mean you can't be allergic to them.

Ideas for side dishes for Thanksgiving?

Note that the Wegmans basting oil is seasoned with parsley, thyme and garlic:

Does The Finger Lakes area have ANY good restaurants?

Does The Finger Lakes area have ANY good restaurants?

But the Krebs has reopened under new management. I haven't eaten there recently, but I'm hopeful.

Yes to Dinosaur BBQ. There's also Bob's Barbecue in Homer who serves Cornell BBQ chicken among other things.

Elderberry Pond (http://www.elderberrypond.com/id2.html) is quite remarkable.

Too much corn on the cob! Help me use it!

Jeni's first ice cream book has a recipe (Jeni's Splendid Ice Creams at Home by Jeni Britton Bauer).

I have an okra question too -

Don't use a food processor to slice or chop it unless you want the slime to turn to rubber bands. In this case slime is better.

I like to cut the tops off, trying not to cut into the pods. Then I quarter the pods vertically and fry them quickly in olive oil.

What I Learned After Taking a Homeless Mother Grocery Shopping

I like to think of them enjoying the fresh cherries. I can't because of allergies (cooked works) and I wish I could join them. Fortunately, I _can_ cook them.

Pressure cooking pork tenderloin

Is this a tenderloin or a loin? Both are very lean.

How to make chicken salad?

Have we given you enough information? Basically, it's chicken (which may be cooked in a number of ways as long as it's cooked), some sort of dressing such as oil and vinegar or mayonnaise, and other ingredients as desired. Some people like grapes and add curry powder to the dressing. Some people like more sour things like tomatoes.

Driving [Niagara Falls, NY to Lake George]

Which lake? You'll pass quite a few.

A standard recommendation is Dinosaur Barbecue in Syracuse. The Syracuse location is always busy, so a late lunch is highly recommended, unless you're there for an early dinner. There's also a branch in Troy.

There's also Elderberry Pond between Auburn and Skaneateles.

I don't know how your tastes lie, but here are two opposites.

Greek Restaurant in Fayetteville Mall.

King David's? I've only been in the Marshall St. one so I can't speak to the barrels.

Food Processors and the D word.

I've found the french fry blade for my Cuisinart CFP-5A is a pretty good precursor to a dice.

What would you do with 1 lb. of ground pork?

Not tahini, the sesame seeds aren't toasted. A Chinese toasted sesame paste would be better.

It's the volcanic plops of hot polenta that make it difficult for me.

Although for me it was Latin. The structures taught me a lot about how syntax works.

Help! I'm allergic to meat and love bacon!

And be very careful how much liquid smoke you add to anything. A drop can be too much, depending on volume of food being seasoned and overall seasoning.
