What favorite food is such a labor of love, time, technique or even money that rarely make it but when you do…

Devilled eggs w/ fancy toppings....the labor of love is getting the eggs peeled in one piece!

"Healthy" crackers and other snacks

My new fave is Raincoast Crisps Crackers, found them at WF.
They are very unusual and very delish.
Another would be Mary's Gone Crackers.

Saki as substitute for white vermouth?

Have a large bottle of saki with only 1/2 cup used.Planning on making
'moules mariniere' tomorrow. Can I use it rather than the white vermouth
the recipe calls for?
Thanks for any info on how to use up leftover saki?

Can you really sub saki for white vermouth? I have almost a full bottle and would like to use up.Am planning 'moules mariniere' for tomorrow ,so would the saki be OK or should I just buy some white verm? Thanks.

Cultural Traditions for Easter and Easter Dinner

Growing up in Brooklyn/LES Manhattan Slavic households-
Polish,Russian,Ukranian.....Easter was always Kielbasa, both fresh & smoked, with freshly grated horseradish....tons of homemade Pierogies(potato/farmer cheese & sauerkraut filled)served w/ sour cream, pickled beets as a side and I'm sure plenty other sides, but those are the ones that have stuck w/ me for 65+ years.Oh,and of course the Babka!!!

Briermere Farm - Riverhead

We used to live about a mile from Briermere many years ago.
Always bought their apple and pumpkin pies for holidays, very delish. But I do remembere paying not more than $8 dollars for a really large pie and you had to place orders for it and then wait in very long lines also when picking up. Enjoy!

Looking for some horseradish cheddar.

Don't know if you have Safeway? I know Western Canada,
Vancouver,BC have Safeway stores.
I get it at my local Safeway here in Seattle, don't know the brand though.
I'm referring to the horseradish cheddar, don't know about Jalep. cheddar?

New York Style Pizza

YES...!!! ex-Brooklyn & /New Yorker(West Village ,UWS & Bronx) here.
Your pic is perfect and has started the craving again, but sadly,Seattle has mostly the chains/sponge-type crusts or the
over-priced and over-cooked/charred "artisanal" wood-fired,brick oven dreck that tastes like wood smoke.
