Have you tried Pastrami N Friends in Commack? Good quality and real nice people. Commack Road near Jericho.
Deli King in Lake Success (haven't been there in a couple of years) was always solid. Ben's Best (not the Ben's chain) on QB in Rego Park is also very good.

I'm hooked on this dish. We've been there a couple of times in the last few weeks and the duck dishes are all very good. Good penang curries also.

Surprised to hear that. I went twice. First time to grab food to go and the second time to sit and eat after a Mets game.
The floors, tables and chairs were covered with a greasy sheen...Dumplings and Lamb Noodle Soup were great though..
Dept. of Health shut them down...

Never been to Roberto's but in regard to your two Queens options L'Incontro kills Parkside in the food category.
If you want to have above average red sauce Italian Parkside fits the bill. There is no ambience at Parkside. Rocco and his staff at L'Incontro offer many food options (wood oven pizza, game dishes like Pappardelle with rabbit ragu, great grilled baby portuguese octopus, to name a few..) that are delicious.
Make reservations for a weekend a couple of weeks in advance..

Haven't been there yet. Did have some nice brisket at Mable's Smokehouse a couple of weeks ago. Their deluxe platter is a great bbq deal. Not too much rub but a great flavor. My fav for brisket is still Hill Country in NYC.

Is there still good dumplings @ Flushing Mall?

In Bayside you have Jackson Hole on Bell Blvd. or the newly re-opened Bayside Diner on Northern Blvd. Basic diner fare in both. I think Jackson Hole only serves breakfast until 3 PM most days.
I haven't been but two friends of mine who frequent the place love the Terrace Diner in the Bay Terrace shopping center also in Bayside.

It's now called Grill 43. They gutted the place and set it up as a restaurant. No more groceries. Had a delicious chicken doner and patlican salad there yesterday.
They also serve large and small size versions of the main courses.

We like the pizza at Nick's in Rockville Centre. Their calamari is above average also..

Me and Grindy were there a couple of weeks ago. While the dumplings and lamb noodles were perfect, the place was filthy.

Nice choices BTaylor. The coffee and food at Queens Kickshaw is quite delightful!!
