I'm scared of sushi
So basically anything but salmon is considered safe? How do you know that the salmon sashimi isn't fresh water?
What are you a stubborn purist about?
So far I've figured out that ketchup is horrible, horrible and should not go with anything. Even french fries.
I'm scared of sushi
No not the faux-stuff like California rolls, but the real raw fish. I know the chances of catching a parasite are pretty low, or these places would go out of business. But, all you need to do is catch one of those nasty critters to have a a really bad year. Can anyone assuage my fears?
what i crave when i come back home to states
On a trip back from the Middle East I gorged on BBQ beans and chips. I felt like I was in heaven!
Big Hardee?
You know the Big Mac would be much better without the middle piece of bread and a tomato slice.
least terrible chains?
Olive Garden, Macaroni's Grill, McDonald's, Red Robin, Panda Express
However they're all wildly unhealthy and should be avoided at all costs!
Best food finds at Costco? [old]
I'm bummed that Costco stopped carrying Brazilian canned roast beef. I guess they must be having a shortage over there.
Panera for lunch -- NEVER AGAIN!
Yeah but the Chicken Chipotle is so delish. I can feel my arteries hardening just talking about it !
Panera for lunch -- NEVER AGAIN!
Love their chicken chipotle sandwich until I realized how many calories were in it.
Your choice for Trader Joe's BEST item
I *heart* their stir-fry veggie mix and pre-cut mushrooms! Wonderful stuff, I just threw it on a skillet with some canned chicken and PRESTO dinner and breakfast!
Macaroni Grill
I love the part when your server writes his/her name using a crayon on the paper sheet that covers your table. So classy...
Do you miss the McDonald's Arch Deluxe line?
I loved it when it came out, too bad it failed so badly. I guess it was stupid to think they could offer upscale sandwiches.
When is Burger King going to realize that their fries SUCK?
What's new? BK fries have always sucked compared to Mickey Ds. Of course either one will give you a heart attack.
Your choice for Trader Joe's BEST item
I like most of their vegetables especially the shredded cabbage. Love the dairy products. The middle eastern flatbread. The "Reserve" Cabernet Sauvignon.
Best Fried chicken chain
Yeah maybe I'll try it in 2 years when I can afford to include fried chicken in my diet.
BBQ on Eastside
Where can I find good BBQ in the Redmond/Kirkland/Woodinville/Bothell area? There's like nothing here and NO Burger King doesn't count.
Macaroni Grill
One of the best dishes I ever at was the "Vodka Rustica". But as everyone else has indicated, too much salt. Can you tell them to put less salt or the pre-cooked stuff is already salted?
Red Robin Burgers
A few years ago I had the Sante Fe burger and it was magnificent. I don't eat there anymore because it's too calorific.
Trader Joe's culture
The part I don't like is how so many of the cash register jockeys think they have to be your dearest, best friend. It's like - no I'm not going to tell you my weekend plans you fookin' stranger.
Small Plates Menu at Cheesecake Factory
Nice to see a big chain realizing people want smaller portion sizes of quality tasting food. Not everyone is a glutton.
Admit it... There's Some Dishes at Chain Restaurants You Like
I can't really say I like chain restaurants. It's more of a "i'm not disgusted by some of them". There are certain chains I will not step into anymore - Denny's, Applebee's, McDonald's, Burger King(oh the horror the horror), Taco Hell(don't get me started), Crack in the Box, Subway, Quizno's, hell any sandwich place where they don't know the definition of proper hygiene. At least I can give some credit to my local Olive Garden, it's consistently decent and the noise level is acceptable. However when I want to go out, I choose to patronize indies.
Any Other Jack-in-the-Box Lovers Out There?
I'd love to eat there, I hear they've got great sandwiches these days. I just can't abide the grease bombs and the calorie-bombs of their "fresh" sandwiches. It's just not part of my diet.
Subway Surprise
The last time I attempted to eat at Subway was 4 years ago. I'd already felt like I was eating bad crap to begin with, but this time it really took the cake. The tubs of lettuce were rotten. I didn't say anything as they were making the sandwich, because I thought it should be obvious that they would notice and replace them with fresh lettuce. But no. So when I got he sandwich at the register, I told them about the rotten lettuce and left without the sandwich. That was the last time I every went into a Subways. Who needs to eat their fat-laden crap anyways.
