Revere area Wedding Rehearsal Dinner Venue needed

Bummer! I though I could avoid two rotaries!

Revere area Wedding Rehearsal Dinner Venue needed

Not to be off topic- but please share the entrance to rt 1 directions from the side street beside the church. When I am at St Anthony's and have to get on rt 1, I have to get on rt 60, and go thru the two rotaries before getting on rt 1 near the theatre. TIA.

But you'll love it the way I cook it!

Everything tastes good fried- and, as my 9 yo nephew says, "everything tastes better with bacon".

But you'll love it the way I cook it!

I agree- anyone would like brussel sprouts cooked that way. It is similar to a Lida B recipe- except her recipe calls for the removal of each individual leaf from each sprout, and is served with a lemon sauce. But I love the garlic and pine nuts idea.

Best spots to buy culinary herbs (to grow)

Maybe give a call to Mahoneys- they have lots of locations, but I think the Winchester location is the largest.

Making white sauce gluten-free: what do I sub for the wheat flour?

We have 5 celiacs in the family, and I use corn starch when making gravy. I, too, don't have a GF kitchen, so have to be really careful. I hosted TG dinner - I cooked two turkeys, made regular and GF gravy. I also made "regular" bread stuffing GF bread stuffing.
Served GF and regular rolls. I was really careful, and all went smoothly. Am hosting a luncheon next Saturday, and will make a potato and a chicken salad that everyone can eat. chefathome is absolutely correct, imperative not to have any cross contamination.

Want to make bread but don't understand ingredient. Please help!

You can but it on line at king Arthur. here is a link

Honey

I checked out the pictures on their website, and the meat looked fabulous. I will have to tell my sister in law, as she will love this!

Honey

OOPs- Will have to try Tendercop, I guess. Just checked out both websites, and Conners is closed until May 1. But Tendercop looks like fun!

Honey

Thanks, I think I may take a ride to Conners Farms this weekend. Not sure about Wilson's, either- but I made a trek to the new Calereso yesterday, so I am all set for produce for a while.

Honey

Hi Gio- Can you tell me where you get the local honey? My allergies have already started, so it may be too late for this year. i do buy local honey at the Famers Market, but that is a few months away. For now, I use Trader Joes. TIA

Potato salad secrets?

Sounds good- I use vinegar. After the potatoes are cooked, I drain them, then pour vinegar over them, cover and let sit for a few minutes before I peel them. I also think that making the salad, and adding your dressing of choice is best done while the potatoes are still hot- or at least warm.

Colarusso's Farm Stand Reading : New Store opening soon

Just got back. Prices were great- not sure if that is for the opening or not. I also like that the baby spinach comes in small bags- just enough for one meal. The curly lettuce, tomatoes, oranges, cabbage were all priced great. Larger bread and baked goods selection than the old store. The only baked product I bought was a gluten free brownie for my neice who has celiac. Not a bargain at $2.99! Tonight will be Doms steak tips on the grill, asparagus and spinach salad. I had three coupons (worth $6.00), which had expired at the end of Feb, but they let me use them.Once I got home, I found the newer ones. As collie said, nice addition to the area. Once the warm weather is here, Wilson, et al, will beat them on product offerings.

Not sure about the baked goods, though the cookies always look good!. I can say their pizza dough is great, and they used to carry really good monkey bread- it was made somewhere in Lynnfield which closed. I think I will take a ride by today. I have coupons from them for $2.00 off flowers, produce and meats.

Lunch help, American in the suburbs Saturday?

Grassfields is owned by the people who own Jimmys Steerhouse on Rte 1- their menus are identical. And it is a good choice that fits the OP's request.

I'm going to give it a few days to let the crowds die down. Looking forward to trying it out.

DUH-- sorry. I read you original post incorrectly, and guess I had myself a blond moment ( I can say that, as I am blonde!{)

What was the sign up for? i am signed up to get their coupons in the mail- but i dont think that is what you are referring to, as I have not gotten anything in the mail for a while. TIA.

Looking for really delicious sandwiches (platter) for a party

Pace's in Saugus may work. I have never gotten their sandwich platters, but have gotten their cold cuts and rolls and made my own. their website shows both cold cut platters, sandwich platters and Italian dishes.

That's it- if you are driving south on 28- you cant miss it.

Colarusso's Farm Stand Reading : New Store opening soon

Parking in their current place is horrible. I always think I am going to be rear-ended as I back out of my parking space. Didn't mean to suggest there would not be ample parking- I just could not see how to access the lot on my "drive by".

Colarusso's Farm Stand Reading : New Store opening soon

Just southh of the current store- across from the gas station and the new restaurant that used to be Wayside Bazzar. It looks big- lots of greenhouses. I have only driven by it, and am not sure hwere the parking lot is, or how to access the new lot if driving north on rte 28.

I shop every few weeks at Wilsons, and fill in with Calereso, and with the weekly farmers market in season. Yike! $4.30 a gallon. Glad I have a car that gets great milelage- I will need it for my yearly trek to the Outer Banks this summer. The gas was around that price when we went in July 2008. But I only have to stop once for gas, and get almost 40 mpg on long trips.

I agree- I am hoping they are like Wilsons. Some of there stuff is good- but a few weeks ago, I picked up some grapes, and they were not at all sweet. And they stopped carrying the monkey bread- which was really good!

Colarusso's Farm Stand Reading : New Store opening soon

I sometimes stop there- they always heve great corn in season, and great pizza dought, too. Wilson is my go to place- but I would love it if Calereso's was just as good, I live in Melrose and Caleresos is much closer!

harrows is staying- harrows actually owns the space, so I am sure they want another tenant!

Why are chicken breasts so HUGE?

WOw- I though you were kidding, but that is the truth! and that is more than 100 million pounds! Crazy!

Why are chicken breasts so HUGE?

We don't buy a lot of the boneless chicken breasts, but you are spot on- they are HUGE! When I do buy them, I freeze them a bit, then slice into smaller portions.
