Very Private/Romantic Dining?
I am getting married on a Sunday morning this November, and my fiance and I will be staying overnight in Half Moon Bay before heading to the airport the next morning.
I'm looking for ideas about where we might have dinner that night, really anywhere between Sausalito and Half Moon Bay. I'd love to find someplace where there is either private dining rooms for two, or somewhat private booths/tables. I don't know of anywhere like that, and if no one else does either, just somewhere with a romantic atmosphere would be fine, but any suggestions would be welcome. Thanks!
Best Sandwich Rolls for Catering?
Thanks, you guys! I don't think I saw a website for Acme that gave me the information I wanted, so I'll probably be calling or going in...
Best Sandwich Rolls for Catering?
I'm planning to cater an event for 120, sort of a gourmet sandwich buffet. I'm interested to know where the best place would be to get a ton of (preferably assorted) sandwich rolls. I noticed that Il Fornaio has a pretty big variety of breads, but I'm curious if anyone had any information on ordering bulk rolls or a bakery in San Francisco that does this. Thanks!
Keeping Food Fresh on a Road Trip?
Awesome ideas, you guys, thanks! Methinks I am going to try experimenting with each of these ideas at home in the next month or so to see what happens.
Keeping Food Fresh on a Road Trip?
I'm planning on taking a road trip this winter to go visit some family, and I would like to bring along some brownies for family. I'll be driving, and would like to know if there's a way to keep the brownies fresh for say 3-5 days while we'll be on the road.
Is it better to keep them in their pan? Individually wrapped?
Will some brownies stay fresher longer based on their ingredients?
Thanks so much!
Seeking Lightweight Nonstick Cookware
I have had a set of Farberware Accents cookware for probably six or seven years now, and I pulled it out of boxes from moving to find that it definitely had scratches in the finish, and the bottoms had become bowed from use. Now, I don't use nonstick cookware all that often, but there are certain applications for which I greatly prefer its use.
I'm not necessarily looking for an entire cookware set (I already have a great nonstick dutch oven), but I need replacements for my frying pans and several saucepans (which I inadvertently have misplaced), and MAYBE some "deep frying pans" or saute pans.
The issue I have been finding is that all the nonstick cookware I've seen is rather heavy for me, including pans I saw at a nearby restaurant supply store. Farberware pans were extremely light, and I'm having trouble finding similarly lightweight open-stock cookware anywhere - anyone have any suggestions for me?
In search of new cookware
I can't comment on Revereware, but I have had a set of Cuisinart Classic Stainless Steel cookware for about three or four years, and I absolutely love it. I have never had any issues with pitting, discoloration, or any food quality issues due to aluminum that I have noticed. In fact, despite what I had heard about sticking with stainless steel, the only things I occasionally have trouble with are skinless chicken breasts. I don't cook eggs in them at all.
I've washed them in the dishwasher, shined them up with powdered cleansers, washed them by hand, cooked over high heat, low heat, in the oven, all kinds of different foods and applications. Love them, for what it's worth.
