A Decent Poppyseed Bagel, Or Am I Dreaming?

I moved to Seattle (originally a NYer) about 2 years ago and have been SORELY disappointed in their bagels. Eltana has been recommended over and over, but I don't think they taste too good, they're tiny and expensive, and the space is weird. I have resorted to making my own bagels.

If anyone wants a taste of a homemade bagel, let me know! I've been thinking about opening a place in Seattle and would love some feedback.

Best Burger in Seatown?

I have to second Uneeda (and I live 2 blocks away, so I go relatively frequently) and Two Bells, but I MUST add Latona Pub to the list. In my opinion, this is the best burger in Seattle. It comes with a salad instead of fries, so you don't feel so terrible about eating it. Plus, fantastic beers and other menu items.

kafe berlin??

Hi all,
I work at Harborview and noticed a few weeks ago that a new place called Kafe Berlin is opening up on 9th. With the dearth of coffee shops in the area, this is a real boon, however, they've been almost open for quite some time. I called today and was told they'll be opening within the week, which is what I was told last week.

Does anyone have additional information on this place??

Thanks!

Spur - What's great on the current menu?

I'm headed to Spur for the first time tomorrow night and am wondering if anyone has any recommendations for what's great on the menu right now. Anyone been recently?

Looking for high gluten flour

Thanks all, for your great suggestions. Big John's PFI had exactly what I was looking for (unfortunately, they dumped the flour in an old pickle bucket, leaving a super pickle-y smell), but I'll be back when their new shipment comes in. And as a bonus, it was only $0.55/lb.

Looking for high gluten flour

I recently moved to Seattle and am looking for high gluten flour so I can continue making my own bagels. I know I can order online from King Arthur's, but it's expensive. In my last city (Boston) I was able to find ridiculously cheap ($0.70/lb), bulk Lancelot high gluten flour at a food co-op. I checked the PCC in Fremont, and they didn't carry it, but I haven't tried any other locations.

Anyone have an idea where I can get bulk high gluten flour? Or small pre-bagged quantities for a low price??
