Braised White Beans with Chard

Awesome. IF you add a lot of extra spices. Salt and pepper often....I also added pimenton, rosemary, marjoram, garlic salt, and dried red pepper flakes. Added diced potatoes and chicken sausage along with the onions and garlic at the beginning, and grated a little cheddar chive cheese on top to serve. Lovely.

Oatmeal–Chocolate Chip Cookies

They came out very soft, almost like tiny oatmeal cakes....Nice flavor, and I have to say I've never had a fluffy oatmeal cookie before. If you want a cookie crunch, these are probably not for you, but if you like the hearty depth of oatmeal and a soft cakelike treat, bake 'em!

Bratwurst and Butternut Squash Stew

Great! A few modifications:

1. After adding squash and potatoes, I added generous dashes of oregano, thyme, marjoram, and dried red pepper flakes. Perfect amount of a little heat in the end, and some herbal notes to complement the caraway.
2. I used whole peeled tomatoes in a can, and ran it through the blender before adding it to the pot. As there wasn't much liquid left by the end of the simmering, I think the added juice was a plus.
A very flavorful vegetable stew; I think it would be fantastic even without the sausage (I used turkey). Will make it again!

Halibut with Orange-Parsley Butter and Succotash

I too love bacon but my partner doesn't eat it....I added a bit less than a teaspoon of crushed dried chipotle pepper, plus crumbled in about four ounces of soy chorizo (Trader Joe's brand, which is great!).

We loved the succotash, loved the halibut, and loved the compound butter. There I substituted garlic salt and cilantro for salt and parsley, and it's just perfect.
