One city in the US for food, and one city in the entire world for food
The bs is really not about the people in NYC but the attitude in the restaurant world in NY.
What I mean is you can get a reservation in Philly.
And if you are lucky enough to live in the city then you get the chance to enjoy wonderful neighborhood restaurants run by really nice and talented chefs.
One city in the US for food, and one city in the entire world for food
Very hard to answer but here are my choices:
US city- Philadelphia- awesome food city without all the bs of NYC...
World- Sao Paulo, Brazil- two reasons, first it is a large city with many excellent restaurants, you could choose a different place every week and not get bored. Food quality is outstanding and the scene is awesome. Second reason is I used to live there and miss it!
New Haven Restaurants
So I am looking forward to trying Ibiza, for the real good food in New Haven...
Marketing and image aside I still like the food at Bespoke. And they make a great Gimlet.
New Haven Restaurants
Went to Bespoke last Saturday night. As usual very good food. However the service was less than stellar... and it was super loud in there.
Not sure what that was about but I guess there are "off days" for everyone.
Flipside - Fairfield, CT
Just curious as to how good is Fraiche Burger in the Bridgeport location...I have never been and want to try it.
Best Dishes in NE List
This is a great thread! Have already gotten some ideas for my next meals.... so here are some of my favorites:
Steak Frites- Martel, Fairfield, CT
Osso Buco- Match, South Norwalk, CT
Eggs Benedict- O'Rourke's, Middletown, CT
Meatball appetizer- Paci, Southport, CT
Mashed potato, bacon, onion pizza- Bar, New Haven, CT
Sandwiches ( lots to choose from) at Rosies- New Canaan, CT
Flipside - Fairfield, CT
Do not know anything about it but will try to find out.
Hope that whatever goes in there is better than Flying Dish-IMHO not a very good place....
Cafe Madeline, Fairfield CT
Nice to know that it is a good place to bring kids. And if the menu is larger than when it was Cafe Quattro that is a bonus since they had a very limited menu before. I will have to try it!
New Haven Restaurants
That is an awesome review of New Haven restaurants. Thanks. I would highly recomend Bespoke and Union League. Both pricey and worth the trip (since I do not live in NH) on a special occasion.
Dim Sum in Flushing on the weekend....
We are planning to drive down to Flushing and try Jade Asian for the first time-so any tips are welcomed! I have checked out some of the discusions here and settled on Jade Asian.
Also what are the best times to get there to avoid a long wait and if going with a baby is really a bad idea?! No posts really related to bringing kids/baby etc....
Any help appreciated.
