Food Scars - Things you will never eat again. in NY we always called Ralp the porcelain god as no goddess would want to accept that kind of offering. |

At what point do you drink your beer room temperature? The Term room temp comes from medieval Europe castles who also happen to be suffering from a mini ice age at the time so it started out at 55 to 60 and cellar temp were equivalent to very cold frig to freezing as some castles had ice rooms where they stored winter ice into summer later it moved to merchants that did that and even moved to America until early refrigeration came but it was ammonia based and dangerous so people still had ice box refrigerators for a long time |

I know but that's the current info as he got screwed on the lease when the owner sold the building out from under him on Pratt street and a search for a good Maine lobster is never ending in Tampa bay. |

Good luck finding as it to well known how so sell out the same day they get it in most stores so before the holiday talk to the manager and get some reserved is the best way to go now |

You know you're a foodie ("food nerd", "chow-der", etc.) when..... microwaves do have a dark side to them as my friend found when she put one to close to her computer (2 feet) and found when using it scrambled her screen so she had to move it 7 feet away before the interference stopped |

Food Scars - Things you will never eat again. I found I only like southern comfort with grapefruit juice and it has to be the 100 proof version the 80 proofs does not work and I feel for you as I live in Gatorade country as it was developed by USF but rather be dehydrated then drink Gatorade |

Food Scars - Things you will never eat again. my first job growing up on long island when I was 7-8 at the donut shop on my block were I folded boxes in exchange for all the fresh donuts I could eat however the quality of those donuts blows away Entemanns and even dunking donuts as they made donuts from 3 am for the crowd that came in early as 6am to hop the train into the city after the donut rush a second crew came in and made all the fillings in house with only fresh ingredients which is why they sold over 1000 boxes a day as they were right across from the train station which may explain why I still like good donuts |

You know you're a foodie ("food nerd", "chow-der", etc.) when..... when Burger king is offering a 1 dollar wraps weekend and you not even tempted when driving by hungy and near broke |

Food Scars - Things you will never eat again. my mom was a boater and saw them growing on the docks which are often very polluted so had a serious aversion to mussels however I cured her of that and now she loves them and she also did not like lobster ether till I introduced her to it and she loves that even more |

Food Scars - Things you will never eat again. Turkey as my moms boyfriend got the largest bird he could find so over come home with one close to 30 pounds so we had leftovers for 4-5 weeks. also Spaghetti as I grew up on long island NY a very italian area so my school served Spaghetti twice a week with the most horrable metalic tasting sauce so to this day over 40 years later I wil not touch Spaghetti thought I love all other pasta except for angel hair which is ok but not a favorite |

Sidebern's Tasting Menu (Tampa) - Outstanding! compared to the 90s Tampa food has improved greatly however there is still lots of room for improvement as I was shocked when I moved down in 1989 when a sandwich which cost almost the same as in NY which was piled with meat and cheese, was served down here with a 2-4 thin slices of meat and a single slice of cheese and called it a sandwich. |

want a new friend hee hee "tumbs down on NOLA. They get a lot of hype being as they are really the only Cajun/Creole place in town. Terrible gumbo, shrimp creole and etouffee. I have alot of friends from New Orleans and we all just cook amongst ourselves sharing dishes as our stuff is the bomb" |
|
|
My favorite garlic wing in florida is from the Charlie Horse in ormand beach and my second favotie was wild wings here in tampa but sadly they closed so does any one have any sugestions for places in tampa as it quite expensvie and time consuming to go to ormand beach for wings ----- |
