Good restaurants in New Westminster

this was mentioned by another post already but I too would recommend Tamarind Hill, its a Malaysian restaurant so if you like spicy food like Thai and Szechuan you should be able to find some dishes suiting your palate.

Anyone Eaten at the Italian Kitchen

I'd have to say both IK and TK serve good Italian fare but nothing to write home about. I am with another post here where the best place for Italian food is La Quercia. Go for their family style dining and have the kitchen surprise you and your guests. Oh, try their parmesan souffle, its wickedly good!

Nine Dishes

It was one of the most unique dining experiences I've ever had in Vancouver. I loved it. From the casual attitude from IF to the heat level of some of the dishes and the tastiest boiled fish and salivating chicken in Vancouver!! Its like eating at someone's home where you get your own rice, your own tea cups, very casual cuz its all about the food, company, friends, chat. Utter enjoyment!!! OMG, and the very authentic Chinese music added to the whole experience. I cannot wait to return and this time, more meat on skewers please peeps!

help finding dim sum outside of vancouver

If Coquitlam or New Westminster is not too far for you, try Kirin, its a tad pricey but they do dim sum really well.

Benke Ramen - Vancouver - First Visit

checked out Benke yesterday with best bud, wow, the room is nice, the decor and tables everything was comfy. The food tho, hmm, was good, gyoza plumpy and not over cooked but the ramen was tasty but I kept thinking Kintaro still makes a better broth. I'd go back again to try their non ramen stuff. Service was slow but not bad considering they were swamped at lunch on a weekday.

Benke Ramen - Vancouver - First Visit

Wow, awesome review and such details and based on your review alone. I am so there tomorrow for lunch with my best bud.

Good eats in SD anyone?

hey Honeychan, I will have a car and we enjoy fusion food and seafood. The cost of the dinner is never an issue as my spouse and I are foodies so am willing to spend for a wonderful dinner. I welcome both tourist and non touristy venues as there's good in all of them. I welcome any advice...maybe a few places that you'd return over and over again in your last 5-6 trips there. Thanks for readin'

Good eats in SD anyone?

hi goodhealthgourmet, yep we'll have a car and am staying at Hotel Solamar in the Gaslamp District. I am hoping to find good eats say within walking distance or short cab ride as we tend to enjoy our wine with dinner. But for lunch we'll drive around for sure so any recommendation is much appreciated. I am looking for places the locals rave and love! Thanks!!

Wild Ginger - Calgary

I hope its not affiliated or part of the one that opened in Vancouver which is kinda like a Korean fusion type restaurant. It wasn't good but some good reviews of it on dinehere.ca I think its just me but I find Korean food not palatable :(

Where to find schnitzels in Vancouver?

Anyone can recommend a restaurant near downtown Vancouver (so I can go for lunch) that serves good schnitzel, I used to go to Budapest but they have odd hours and usually not open or are open for 2-3 days a week which is bizarre. I am craving a good pork or chicken schnitzel with spatzle hopefully! Love spatzle!

3 days/2 nights in Vancouver -- you can help!

Your choice of restaurants for this trip is AMAZING. Can I join in?? LOL!

Ok, I've heard Sandbar is good for drinks, small dance floor and not catered to the teens. Good martinis. Good for ppl watching as well. A new place I'd recommend for drinks (no dancing though) is Goldfish located in Yaletown, nice room and they are new so would be neat for you to check out. Have FUN!!!

Vancouver - Granville Island

I do enjoy Sandbar, it gets rowdy for dinner but the share plates and some entrees are good. Not sure if they take reso but there's usually a lineup on the weekend but it moves fast. If you can get a table near the window, there's a nice view as well. Not sure if you are fan of seafood but if u r, get their wok squid, its quite delish. Have fun.

Beard Papa Cream Puff

yes it is on the 3rd floor Food Court area of Aberdeen Mall. It's a nightmare lineup and parking can be a challenge there but trust me, it will be worth it alex8alot! Here's a pic of my last puff before i inhaled it.

Point Grey/Kits Sunday Lunch?

for a nice view, try Watermark at Kits Beach, food is so so only though. I agree with Enigma, love the place and the owner is really nice and its kid friendly.

Beard Papa Cream Puff

Wow, cream puff alert! Has anyone tried this new cream puff place that just opened in Richmond BC called Beard Papa, its a franchise from Japan and can be found in US and now in Canada. It is the best puff ever and I was wondering what others thought!

Do Italians put chicken on pasta?

Spent a short time there and ate at restaurants for every meal and don't recall seeing chicken in pasta...lots of seafood in pasta though. I also remember pasta as being light and without the heavy cream sauce like those in America.
