You can also try Extra Virgin Italian Cuisine, but it's out in Shirlington, a charming village in Arlington, VA. The space/room would be free; you just pay for food. They have live jazz on most days and the ambiance is very warm and beautiful.

Try Ashton, www dot ashtonjs dot com. It's a high end apartment building, but has a beautiful clubroom area with fully equipped catering kitchen that I'm sure many of these restaurants on this site can use when catering your event. I have a contact at Ashton if you'd like to stop by and see the space. I don't think there is a charge for the room/area as the management team there is more interested in gaining exposure with those in the local community vs. making money on their clubroom. The building is right there in Penn Quarter within walking distance to Verizon Center and Metro. A little out of the box, but hopefully this helps?!
Rumbero's & Cuban Salsa
I just found out about this place called Rumberos Latin American Cuisine, Art & Bar. It's on 14th St in DC. Anyone been and can share some insight? It looks great, the menu seems delightful and they play live cuban salsa music as well as jazz, samba, rumba, etc.
Just want to get some insight before making a reservation.

Has anyone been to Temple Lounge in Arlington? I've seen the web site and menu. The atmosphere and food choices are intriguing. Looking for some insight on how this place really is.
Ceviche
Anyone know of a place that makes some great, authentic ceviche otherwise known as a citrus (raw) seafood appetizer? Been to a couple of places in the area, but somewhat disappointed.

I completely with you on that. I've been in on a few occasions and each time, I've tried their sample of the day and ehh...VERY disappointing. As cute as that place is with their whole concept and theme, I was really rootin' for this place. All I can say is, I have yet to be WOW'd when trying any of their items.
Unique Dining Experience for Birthday?
My husband's birthday is this Saturday and I'm looking to take him and a group of friends to a nice, but entertaining place to eat. I'm interested in finding places in DC or Northen VA that aren't too expensive (money's funny these days!), maybe about $25-30 a person max.
Here's the kicker, I'd like to go to a place where there's some sort of experience (think Mie n Yu) or some form of entertainment like live jazz, reggae, rock, etc. or even some kind of performance. A place where there are drinks to be had, fun to be made and an overall good atmosphere.
I'd even be interested in a place where it's a theme and the focus is on making the customer's dining experience an unforgettable one. I'd also be interested in hearing about nice hookah bars. We're natives of the area so we've been to a lot of the restaurants and bars in and around DC. I'm looking for something fun and different, but there's so much to choose from and I'm not having much success with my searches. PLEASE HELP!!!!!
