Absolute best burger in Manhattan?
Just had the burger at Luger's. Extremely juicy and tasty and worth the trip over the bridge.
Good, Cheap Sushi, Midtown West
or can try the sushi buffet in Korea-town. Minado is closed but I think there is another one called Arang. I have never been there though imagine that it is very cheap.
Sugar Cane Sticks
Many stores in Chinatown have them. Try Tan Tin Hung Supermarket at 121 Bowery Street (Bowery & Grand).
need restaurant in queens for 20 ppl.
There are 3 Italian places that I think are decent. Vesuvio and Graziella I think will not come in under $30pp. I think you can at Puccini.

Indonesia recommendations? Esp. nr Hell's Kitchen
Agree with both gaijingirl and Peter.
If they are from Bali, wouldn't they want something they can't get in Bali?
Times Square Mexican, Thai or other
Pam's is very good Thai: http://www.menupages.com/restaurantdetails.asp?restaurantid=3815
There are some good cheap Mexican places here but no great sit down place. Tehuitzingo has the best tacos: http://www.menupages.com/restaurantdetails.asp?restaurantid=5851
Upstater seeking advice for restaurant near Carnegie Hall.
I love Petrossian but would not describe it as moderate either. I am not too high on Rue 57. Not terrible by any means, but for these prices, go to Asiate. Better food, prettier space, and a much better view. The Asiate bar would be a great place for a casual (cheaper) meal as well. Angelo's is pretty good pizza / Italian. On the cheap, Burger Joint in the Parker Meridien is on the top of many NYC best burger list. Yakittori Totto is a fun spot - very reasonable.
What happened to Cafe Habana?
We did not eat here but we walked by it on Saturday night and it was open and packed as usual?
Best Beef Pho
Little Saigon at 85-32 Grand also is very good. Their broth is particularly good.
Is there any good food by the ABC outlet in the Bronx?
Arthur Avenue (Little Italy) is about 4 miles north.
Find: Vietnamese Supermarket
Not new, but a very good spot. One of the few places in Chinatown that sells culantro.
Great sushi around 42nd & 9th?
I think the best sushi in that area is Shimizu which is on 51st between 8th & 9th Avenues. They do have a good cooked menu as well and are quite reasonable.
Is Tavern on the Green Really That Bad?
Except for the garden in the summer time, I don't even think it is a good looking restaurant. I'd much rather Elaine's for a touristy destination.
Vesuvio in Whitestone
Have been twice. The food is pretty good, though the service is a bit slow. All the pastas are homemade and yummy.
Pho Pasteur?
I don't know if these two are affiliated but in Saigon Vietnam, there is a famous pho restaurant near the Pasteur Hospital referred to often as the Pho Pasteur. I imagine that there are quite a few pho places with this name.
As for the Manhattan Pho Pasteur, it's pretty good for pho. I did not think it was outstanding, but solid.
Pho In Flushing
The Kissena Pho Bang has really poor pho. The place next door is better.
I just had the BEST hamburger...
We went to Stand's. I had a very good burger with very good onion rings. Burger is a little messy though.
Best all night pizza deliver/24 hours restaurant
Sarge's delivery takes forever, and their food is so so at best (imo, they are a diner). Scotty's is not bad. Your best bet for pizza late at night is the 24-hr place at Ninth Avenue and 41st St but they do not deliver. There are quite a few diners that you can go to. Most of the Korean restaurants in Koreatown are open 24 hours. Many of the places down in St Mark's are open virtually 24 hours as well. Pigalle at Eighth Avenue and 48th is a decent french bistro. If you want Chinese, there's good ole 69 Bayard St.
sushi places for a 1st date...
Bond Street, Nobu, and (though the sushi is not great, the restaurant is way pretty), Koi at the Bryant Park Hotel.
Good luck!
Jury Duty Tomorrow---HELP?
If you like Asian or Viet, I would also second Nha Trang. So close and very good. Pongsiri is pretty good Thai. For dimsum, go to 9 Chatham Sq
First meal - near Penn Station
Low priced options.
Korean: sul lang tang at Gammiok.
Pizza: John's
Burgers: Rare
If you could specify price limits or food preference, I am sure you will get a lot more replies.
Pho In Flushing
I think the pho at Pho Huong (Maple & Main) is better. I order the #1 and eat it with asian basil and the (brown) hoisin sauce, some chili and some fish sauce. Feel free to omit any item. I like to make a spoonful of a little bit of all the various ingredients as there is such a variety of tastes and textures. Enjoy.
Where vietnamese sandwiches? Uptown?
Banh hoi is a noodle dish. You want the banh mi. And no, I've not seen any uptown or midtown at all.
