East Harlem food/walking tour?

Might add a flag for Gong Modern Thai on 99th just west of Third, a pleasant, low-key little storefront with a short but focused menu, another promising newcomer to the neighborhood.

Best source for kimchi in Manhattan?

We'd like to pick up some kimchi, to compare to our homemade--where are some good sources?

NYC Wine Shoppes

On the UES I've had good experience with Mr. Wright on Third Ave around 89th--big selection, well priced (and a wide price range), knowledgeable staff gives good recommendations.

Nifty new Thai on E 99th Street

Live in the neighborhood and stopped by Gong Modern Thai Dining, tiny storefront on 99th between 3rd and Lex, simple modern room with only a few tables and a straightforward menu of proteins (beef, chicken, seafood, tofu) prepared various ways, massaman, curries, etc. Fresh and tasty dishes very reasonably priced, nothing fancy but a nice addition to the locale and refreshingly low-key. No bar, so check about bringing your own beer or wine. http://gongnyc.com
Between this and Yo In Yo Out are some neat new spots opening up around here--would love to hear about other recent developments.
