Overrated Miami Restaurants

Prime 112, never again. Ive gone at least 50 times for business. everytime i vow never to go again, they pack people in like cattle cars, and the people working the front are incredibly rude. I always end up going back because its a good place to wine and dine clients not from the area, plus i love that steak with a passion. However, Last week was the final staw for me. I reserved the wine room in the back because i actually had to talk some business. We were a party of 9, and I reserved the room a month in advance. we get there half an hour early for some drinks and the people up front had already given the room away to other guy who slipped them a few bills!!!! i had never been more outraged or humiliated (mind you this was infront of people i was trying to bring in as clients.) I stormed out of there, had a good meal elsewear, and vowed never to come back. Table 8 STINKS. the LA pritty boy chef should focus more on his food, and less on keeping everythign copacetic and fung shui with the seasons. pretentious and bad food. they brought out a single heart of roman on a plate with vinager on top, not cut and played it off for a 12 app. OUTRAGOUS.

not to mention Table 8,and Macabi Steakhouse. could they charge any more for a small little plate of pretentious?

4 meals in Miami; two in Key West-where?

BARTON G, in Miami, the food, the spectacle... gotta love it...

What is your favorite BBQ in Miami-Dade?

shivers is the best, its slow as hell and far as hell but its the best. shortys is an institution but the foods 'eh', pit's not bad either.

Fresh Market

for sheer size wegmans is king. but for quality, yes you should be very excited. trader joes is a joke and whole foods is to busy patting themselves on the back to offer any quality food or prices. i have all four in my area, and i day to day i shop at fresh market. its whole foods but fresher, more reasonably priced, and just all around great.

New to Miami, need help finding a few things...

"Gourmet markets"- Gardeners market (several in the area), Fresh market ( full supermarket, think whole foods but much better), *Norman Brothers* (high end produce and prepared foods. place is great. very fresh. on sundays they have a bbq wagon that comes out front, best prime rib around.) the only farmers market i know of is in coconut grove on grand av. on most sundays. its not worth the drive though. as for where to find an asian grocery is a great question, i move to Miami this past year from ny/nj and i havent located a good one yet. i guess i was spoiled back home. i cannot help you with wine either, i don't drink much. welcome to the area, and all the best!
