I saw a full page ad in a local paper( can't recall the name, but i pick it up free all over Red Bank) from Doris and Ed's. It stated that they were rebuilding and would re-open, but didn't say when.

i ate there about 10 years ago, but have not been back. the fact that it can remain open there makes me wonder if the food is better than okay. i was hoping someone had some more current information.
best place for a light dinner in the summer-- monmouth county?
with these past few hot hot days, i find i am not interested in big heavy dinners. any recommendations for light dinners- even salads, or really good sandwiches --? or do i just settle for a big dish of ice cream?
BIRTHDAY CELEBRATION-Monmouth county
looking for a great place for a birthday dinner, with about 10 adults (including one vegetarian) and possibly a toddler who is good in restaurants, but is still, after all, less than 2 years old. BYOB would be nice, great food, "some privacy" so that we don't have to sit right on top of another party, some ambiance???--- too much to ask?-- any suggestions?

i heard a rumor that ray's pizza on rt. 35 in hazlet was originally one of the manhattan ray's pizza places.....

tender greens clone
While in San Diego, i ate at a restaurant called Tender Greens. it had interesting salads and sandwiches, delicious soups, and simple entrees. The food was fresh, tasty, well- prepared, and reasonable, and pleased both vegetarians and meat-eaters. Does anyone know of any restaurants like this in the monmouth county area?

has anyone ever eaten at bella sera? it is located in a strip mall on rt. 34 in aberdeen, between a liquor store and a walk-in doctor's office-- not very promising, but i saw several people walking in with bottles of wine the other day.
any other suggestions for BYOB in the area?

while in costa rica, this bottled salsa was on almost every local restaurant table. i bought some for home use, but it is all gone! does anyone know where i can purchase some in northern monmouth county?

weekend breakfast
where can you go for breakfast ( not brunch) on the weekend in Monmouth county to get interesting omelets, good pancakes, French toast, etc? - preferably a place where you can linger over a cup or two of coffee? sort of like home, but out... what do you think of Yvonne's in Ocean Grove? I know there is always The Tuning Point... other suggestions?
