Hip Italian Restaurant Upper East Side--Can't Find it!

Thanks all. I'm thinking it's Per Lei...investigating this evening. Thanks again!

Hip Italian Restaurant Upper East Side--Can't Find it!

Hi all,

I live on the UWS, but while walking around on the UES a few weeks ago, I stumbled upon a hip Italian restaurant, most likely in the busy 70s or 80s, on Lex or 3rd (I'm 90% sure that this is where I saw it). I know this is vague, but I made a mental note to visit it, but cannot find it online or in person now!

The only description I can give is that the interior is almost completely white and fairly chic looking, and it's on a SW corner with a decent amount of windows. I think the door is on the street side (and not the Avenue side). And as I mentioned--it's Italian.

I know this is stupid, but if anyone can help, it would be so much appreciated! I just don't know the area well enough to recall or find it again! Many thanks!

Mediterranean Whole Fish

Thanks chow_gal. Breaking the bank just isn't an option. Anything less expensive?

Mediterranean Whole Fish

Sorry I wasn't specific with that--we've done the Michael Psilakis restaurants, Esca, some of the midtown Greek places, Vai, Bodrum, Zeytin (all three of these are on the UWS), Fish in the village, Snack, a few of great places on the UES (Vespa and Le Magnifique come to mind, but there are others, I'm sure). Also Taboon, Greek Kitchen....I'm sure there are many more I'm forgetting.

Anyhow, I'd love to discover salt-crusted fish someplace here in the city, but just as much, I'd love to find a great, reasonable, comfortable spot to grab some delicious whole fish, Mediterranean-style.

Thanks again!

Mediterranean Whole Fish

Hi all,

Just returned from North Africa and Italy, where I was lucky enough to have whole salt-crusted fish, which was amazing every time. I would now love to uncover some excellent (ideally similar) whole fish (dorade or seabass or whatever) from some "undiscovered" spots here in the city. I feel like I've hit most of the usual suspects already (though I've not found salt-crusted whole fish)...

Looking for something that won't break the bank as the trip was expensive and it would be great if it wasn't an ordeal to eat there tonight...

Thank you in advance!
