Gift certificate recs for young newlyweds in Covington?

i live in maple valley (grew up here) 5 min from covington. nothing really worth writing home about thats for sure. if they are not too adventurous (like most from covington) stick with the benjorong thai place. decent thai food that everyone seems to like, otherwise you are stuck with applebees and a ton of teriyaki places. there is a Ginos bistro in maple valley that is pretty good, has steak, pasta, ect. This would be your best bet as there is plenty to order there that they would like.

Guy's weekend in Seattle?

Grab a cab and go to millers guild. Great spot. Great chef. Must get the short rib. Also head up to Melrose market. Great place to grab some oysters at Taylor shellfish with a cold beer. Since you will be in on a weekday will will want to wait in line at Salumi in pioneer square or hit up il corvo. Both only open for lunch. All great spots to hit.

Miller's Guild

Awesome. If you love steak and anything cooked well over an open flame this is the place. We ordered pretty much everything. All was outstanding. Must get the short rib and Brussels. Even dessert was good. Go with a crowd and share. Drinks top notch. Dang i want to go back now.

Looking for best pho around

i don't care where it is but wanting to know where ever ones fav place to get it is. I don't like to spend a huge amount as it is supposed to be a reasonable price (under $8) if it cost more than that it better be Kobe beef in there. Wanting to know best broth and meat in relation to price. Does not have to be downtown or surrounding area just king county is what I am looking for. I am not liking to pay 8 bucks for fake broth and tough meat at the chains, I want quality!

Serious pie= just serious OK

Not his fault people will wait for his pie, pizza was 12 bucks and way better than anything here in Seattle. I met him personally waiting in line and did not get any ego at all from him at all. For the wait, it was actually kind of fun, met some great people, has some great antipasti and peroni from his bar next door while sitting in the sun. Would do it all over again and reccomend to anyone who goes to Phenoix, so when you say he is over rated please explain? Is it because he values his craft and has perfected it or just because you had to wait in line?

Serious pie= just serious OK

went with wife for first time on Friday. Was looking forward since I have heard some good things and have eaten at some great pizza places even pizzeria bianco in az, not that I was looking for the exact same thing, but I did leave wanting something more. For $50 for 2 pizzas and 2 blue ribbons I was disappointed. I mean at pizzaria Bianco I got 3 pies and a beer for under 55 bucks. We ordered the guancale, egg and arugula. It had an ok balance but the guancale was non existent, i searched through the pizza and found them very sparse andwhen i did find it in the pie it was basically see through and flavorless. I wanted to add some salt but felt ashamed to ask. The other pie was the chantrel mush, great flavor on this one but again for the 3 pieces that had mushrooms on them the other 6 pieces where just great bread. The dough I will say is great, but when I get artisan pizza I would like a few more good pieces than 3 for 18 bucks a throw.

Overall it was ok, but not worth the money, not trying to pinch pennies as i do not mind spending money on great food. Met some good guys sitting next to me and was with my lovely wife so was not all bad. Prob won't go back, will hit delancy or flying squirrel any day of the week over this place. I will say Tom Douglas's best thing was the doughnuts next door we had at the d lounge for $8.

Steelhead diner

Headed to the steel head diner for my 30th bday wanted to get some thoughts on what to try. Thoughts? I have a res, willing to think about other places but I wanted to keep the cost down as my parents and inlaws are taking me out and did not want to break the bank plus I also wanted some oysters and they all done care for them as much as I do. What are your thoughts...any places in belltown, Ballard area that are worth a shot? Let me hear it.
