Where to buy tortilla shells?

Thanks yumyum and paulj. I guess I'll try one of those two options. Now that there's the new Trader Joe's in Freshpond/Cambridge right in front of the Whole Foods, that won't be too hard!

Where to buy tortilla shells?

Does Cinco de Mayo have flour tortillas? I know it's less traditional, but my husband really loves soft flour tortillas. Otherwise, any advice on where to buy flour tortillas?

Take out/Delivery Davis area

I have to say that East Asia is pretty much classic American Chinese. They added lots of sugar to 2 of the 3 dishes I tried. I didn't try any of the Thai food, but if you like authentic Chinese, this is not the place for you.

Great Vegetarian in Boston Area?

I agree that Oleana's veg tasting menu is really good and is also reasonably priced - less than $40 for 4 small dishes and 1 dessert. You won't know in advance what you'll be eating, but you can let them know if you have any diet restrictions. You can also order vegetarian options off their regular menu.

Chinese and Japanese in/around Davis Square

Right in Davis Square, the best option is sushi- Snappy Sushi is on Highland. You'll have to go a bit out of Davis for any other options - Porter Exchange Mall is worth exploring (miso noodle soup at Sapporo Ramen is good comfort food). You should give some of the other restaurants recommended above a try. There's nothing upscale and in fact, most Chinese restaurants in this area are pretty dingy on the inside.

Restaurants everyone seems to love but you don't

I've tried the Veg tasting too and also the regular menu. Some of the dishes really were good, a few others were misses. I still think though that the veg tasting menu was worth it if you're vegetarian and want to try something new and don't want to spend too much. I mean, where else would you get 4 different dishes and 1 dessert for $36? Maybe a tapas place?

I agree that it's not great food. I think it's always packed because it has a combination of right price and different food flavors from what else is served in Davis. If you look at Davis, there are multiple burger/American bars/joints, 2 Indian food, multiple Italian and multiple sandwich/sub shops. Also a few really bad Chinese places. Red Bones, the sushi place, Martsa and the Crepe place are the only places (that I can think of right now) that offer food that's not duplicated.

It's got good ambiance and the prices are reasonable for what is served. I've had a few solid meals there.

I haven't been impressed by Gargoyles. I live nearby and have tried both their dining room and their bar area. The dining room is so dark and the food in both areas is very expensive and not quite worth it.
I have to add that I am most often disappointed in the restaurants in the $25-$35/entree and above price range. Ambiance isn't enough in my opinion to justify that price.

Restaurant Week... No More

I also went to L'espalier for RW lunch this week and really enjoyed it. I look forward to going again, but during regular time. I also think it does help to expect a little less - not the same level of food as the regular menu. Still some restaurants do RW well and others just really disappoint. For example, I don't mind the use of less expensive ingredients - in fact sometimes cheaper cuts of meat can become delicious with really good technique. Seriously, not much skill goes into a top quality steak, but it takes time and skill to turn a tough piece of meat into something great.

Boston Burger Co.

The burger does come with chips.
