Christmas Eve dinner in New York?

yes - approximately 50 (give or take) before tax and tip, which is why I was hoping for a prix fixe menu, so I can be a little more certain of final prices. Total will only be 3 including me

Christmas Eve dinner in New York?

My family will be visiting me during Christmas, and I would like to take them to a nice, but moderately priced restaurant for Christmas Eve. I have done some searching, but haven't had very good luck, so I thought I'd ask the Chowhound community.

Firstly, my family's taste is relatively conservative, so some of the more"eclectic" and "peculiar" restaurants (wd~50, and the like) wouldn't go over that well.

Whether or not they have a special menu for the evening is not necessary. However, it would be nice.

A Pre Fixe menu is a major plus.

I am thinking something with a rustic, hearty atmosphere and menu would be really nice...it seems like the type of foods that are appropriate for the time of year and for family to gather around...something that warms the soul on a cold Winter night, which I am sure it will be.

I would like to keep it to about $50 per person for the evening.

So if anything comes to mind, I greatly appreciate any help anyone can provide.
